Chapter 24:

"FORNAX!" Nang mahimasmasan sa pagkabigla niya ay kaagad na tumakbo si Amira papuntang parking lot. May mga nakakasalubong siyang mga tao na minsan ay nakabangga na rin niya sa pagtakbo subalit wala siyang pakialam at hindi siya titigil sa pagtakbo hanggang hindi niya makita si Fornax.

"Excuse me, ma'am!" To her dismay, security personnel intercepted her, preventing her from entering the parking lot completely. "The parking lot is too risky."

"Ma'am!" May nurse na rin na nakapansin sa kanya at tinulungan ang guard na hilahin siya papalayo sa parking lot. "The vicinity is on the brink of collapsing at any given moment. We must ensure the safety of individuals and prevent any potential injuries."

"Release me! My husband is inside!" Amira, using all her strength and determination, continues to struggle against the two individuals blocking her path. "He requires my presence! Please, let me through!"

"Ma'am!"

"Ma'am!"

Matagumpay naman na nakawala si Amira mula sa nurse at guard subalit nadismaya lamang siya nang may isang braso na bigla humawak sa katawan niya at mas lalong hinila siya papalayo sa delikadong parking lot.

"Amira, please, take a moment to compose yourself!" She recognized the familiar voice from behind her.

Amira spun around to confront the person behind the voice and experienced a sense of relief as she recognized the individual who had halted her.

"Dale?"

"Yes, please try to stay calm," Dale implored as he successfully moved Amira several meters away from the parking lot. "The area is on the verge of collapsing."

"Fornax is inside! I have to rescue him," Amira sobbed in front of her colleague, Dale, unable to contain her tears any longer. "I have to save him, Dale! I love him!"

"Hey, I understand. But let's try to stay calm for now," Dale gently reassured her. "I've observed the nurses doing everything they can to help everyone inside. The police and fire department are on their way here as well."

Hindi pa rin magawang kumalma ni Amira. She needs to see her husband.

"Perhaps we should check inside; Fornax might still be there," Dale proposed. He had noticed earlier that the nurses were swiftly evacuating everyone from the parking lot after the explosion. There's a possibility that Fornax could be inside.

"Let's go," Amira exhaled deeply. Maybe Dale was correct, and her husband was indeed waiting for her inside the hospital.

Nang makapasok sila ay kaagad na nakita nila ang mga taong sugatan at ang iba ay patay na rin. Some of them are burned because they tried to save someone from the parking lot.

"Fornax..." Amira scanned the faces around her, anxiously searching for any sign of him. She held onto the hope that Fornax had somehow managed to escape from the situation. "Where are you, Fornax?"

"Are you Mrs. Maddox?" inquired a nurse with a slender appearance as they entered the emergency room. "Are you Mrs. Maddox?"

"Opo. Ako po." Amira's hope ignited when someone inquired about her name. "Have you seen my husband? His name is Fornax—" she began, desperate for any information about his whereabouts.

"Yes, Mr. Fornax inquired about his wife before he lost consciousness," the nurse interrupted her sentence, guiding Amira towards Fornax.

As soon as Amira located him, she rushed towards her husband's unconscious form. "Fornax! Oh, dear God!"

"Your husband is going to be okay, Mrs. Maddox. He lost consciousness due to smoke inhalation in the parking lot while trying to rescue a little girl," the nurse explained to them.
