Chapter 29:

IT has been a year since everything appears to have returned to its usual state. The National Secret Group of Agents for Security and Protection (NSGASP), the organization where Amira has been employed, has now fully recuperated. They have safeguarded their data following Dale's sabotage.

Amira has not received any updates about Dale since the tragic event. However, peace has prevailed for several months now.

"I have some new information." Nakita niyang naglalakad papunta sa kanya si Mathis na nakangiti. "Cree is set to be crowned as the heir next month."

Upon hearing the news, Amira experienced a wave of relief. It had been a year since she had parted ways with Cree. Wala na siyang nabalitaan mula kay Thorne at Cree matapos silang magpaalam noong nanganak siya.

Amira comprehends the underlying reasons for everything. Nagtatago at naging maingat lamang sila Thorne at Cree.

"And they ultimately dealt with all the royals who attempted to f-ck with them." Natatawang dagdag naman ni Mathis.

However, despite all the positive news Amira had received from him, deep down, she couldn't shake the feeling that something wrong was looming. Hindi man sa nag-iisip siya ng masama subalit may kutob siya na may masamang mangyayari at sana naman mali itong kutob niya. 

"Are you alright, Amira?" Napansin naman ni Mathis na kanina pa walang kibo sa kanya si Amira. Tila malalim rin ang iniisip ng babae. "Don't fret, everything will turn out fine."

Amira sighed heavily. "I don't know, Mathis, but I can't shake this negative feeling."

"Just take it easy, Amira," Mathis said, offering her a reassuring smile. He appeared quite optimistic at the moment. "Take a day off. Umuwi ka muna at samahan ang mag-ama mo."

As a result, Amira finally mustered a smile. She recalled how Fornax had looked over the past few months while taking care of their baby.

"Perhaps you're correct," she said, grinning broadly. Kaagad niyang niligpit ang kanyang mga gamit. "I think I should spend some time with my family."

"I'm glad to hear that," pag-udyok pa muli ni Mathis. "Now that everything appears peaceful, there's no need to worry," Mathis reassured her.

Tumango na lamang si Amira bago nagpaalam kay Mathis at kaagad na umuwi.

Nang makarating siya sa bahay ay kaagad niyang nadatnan si Fornax na nakaluhod sa sahig at inaabangan ang kanilang anak na humakbang papalapit sa kanya.

Amira smiled at the picturesque scene, reminiscing about Cree's first steps and how she had always been there for him.

Tila may parte sa kanya na nasasaktan kung bakit hindi niya magawang maging andyan para sa mga unang hakbang ni Solstice Seraphina. Mula nang magpaalam si Cree ay ibinuhos niya halos lahat ng kanyang oras sa trabaho.

"Wife." Kaagad na bumalik sa reyalidad ang isipan niya nang mapansin siya ni Fornax. "Kanina ka pa diyan?"

Amira shook her head lightly and offered him a smile. "I've just arrived," she informed him.

She promptly made her way to her daughter and lifted her, embracing her tightly.

"Mommy."

Nabigla naman si Amira sa narinig. Marahan niyang ipinaharap ang kanyang anak. "What did you say?"

"It's just not fair!" Amira heard Fornax sigh in frustration. Padabog itong umupo sa couch. "After being with her for a year while you're always at work, her first word is 'mommy'!" Fornax exclaimed with a mixture of frustration and disappointment.
