Wrestling with feelings

As the sun shone brightly in the warm summer sky, the Spy Racers' garage was unusually quiet. Gary was busy and Miss Nowhere was off on her own mission, leaving the teenagers bored without anything to do as they lounged around the garage.
With nothing to do, everyone just hung around lazily. Cisco was raiding the fridge, Echo was tightening the wheels on her skateboard, and Layla was scrolling on her phone while Tony was practically falling asleep beside her. The only one who was really bothered by boredom was Frostee.
"Ughh! I'm bored!" He groaned as he spun around in circles in an office chair. "Cisco! Do something funny!"
"Whaddo you wamme to do?" Cisco mumbled with a mouth full of food. He stared choking slightly and burst into a fit of coughing.
"Not like that." Frostee said. "That's not funny." He then turned to Tony. "Tony! Entertain me!"
Tony vaguely mumbled something but was not awake enough to hear what Frostee said. Layla looked over at Tony before sending Frostee a smirk as she tore a piece of paper out of a magazine and crumpled it up. Frostee laughed as Layla tossed the paper ball at Tony and it landed in his mouth.
That woke him up and Tony sat up as he spit out the paper. "Was I eating paper in my sleep again? I thought I was over that!" He said as he looked around, oblivious of Layla and Frostee's wide smirks.
"Aaand I'm bored again." Frostee said as he continued to spin around in his chair. When the chair stopped spinning, he found himself facing the boxing ring. "Hey Cisco!" He called. "Why do we have a boxing ring if we never even use it?"
"We use it," Cisco said. "Sometimes."
Frostee jumped to his feet as he got an idea. "Well let's use it now!" He stood in front of the ring and turned to face the others. "Everyone, get over here! We're gonna have a tournament!"
The others were not too interested, but gathered around anyway to at least hear him out. "What're you talking about?" Echo asked.
"Let's have a tournament to see who the best fighter is!" He said. "I'll be the ref. It'll start with Tony vs Cisco, then Echo vs Layla. Then the two winners will fight!"
"Uhh, I dunno Frostee. I don't really want to fight anyone." Cisco said.
"Cmon, Cisco. It's just a little friendly fight. No one's gonna get hurt." Frostee said. Cisco still did not seem too sure. Tony on the other hand was fired up.
"Let's do it!" He said as he jumped into the ring. He had some new moves he was excited to try out. And anything was better than lying around doing nothing.
"I'm still not sure about this." Cisco said as he got into the ring.
"Alright, I want a clean fight!" Frostee said.
"What does that mean?" Tony asked.
"I dunno, just don't kill each other." He said.
Cisco got even more nervous. "Those are your only rules?"
"The round ends when one person pins the other for three seconds! Ready?"
"No." Cisco said while Tony gave the opposite answer.
"Alright, go!" Frostee said despite Cisco's unease when it came to fighting his friend. Tony on the other hand had no reservations at all.
Knowing that Cisco was much bigger and stronger than he was, Tony knew he had to act fast. As Cisco refused to make the first move, Tony took his chance and sprang into action.
Quickly charging at him, Tony grabbed onto Cisco's arm before he could react and flipped him. As soon as he was on the ground, Tony got on top of him to keep him down. Cisco was so dazed that he had no idea what even happened.
"One! Two! Three!" Frostee slowly counted. "Tony wins!"
"Yes!" Tony cheered as he got off of Cisco. "I've been wanting to try that out!" Holding out his hand to Cisco, he helped him to his feet.
"Nice one, T. I didn't even see that coming." Cisco said as they got out of the ring.
"You're lucky Cisco's a big softy." Layla told Tony as she got into the ring. "When I go against you, I won't be so easy."
"That is, if you can beat me first." Echo said to Layla as she got into the ring as well. They both stretched as they faced off against each other.
Frostee watched, brimming with excitement as he announced the start of the next round. "Alright, go!"
Layla and Echo immediately sprung into action, exchanging blows they both easily blocked. This match lasted much longer than the one between Tony and Cisco. Layla and Echo were both almost evenly matched and neither of them was going to give up easily.
At one point Layla had Echo pinned, but she was able to get up before Frostee counted to three. Echo was very agile and had experience fighting, but Layla had much more experience. As they both began to grow tired, Layla was able to get the jump on Echo and pin her down.
"One! Two! Three!" Frostee counted. This time Echo was not able to get up. "Layla wins!"
She stood up and Echo left the ring as Tony took her place. "Ready, Gray?" He asked.
"Ready to beat you." She confidently replied.
"If you're so sure about yourself, why don't we make this interesting?"
"How so?" She asked, her interest piqued.
"The loser has to do whatever the winner says." He proposed.
Layla smirked. "Alright." She said. "You're gonna regret saying that after I win."
Tony smirked back. "Sorry but you're gonna be the one regretting you agreed to this after I win."
They faced off against each other as they waited for Frostee to start the match. "Alright, go!" He said. Tony and Layla immediately began to wrestle, but as soon as they came into contact with each other, they realized that it felt much different than the previous fights.
Their close proximity made both of them feel strange. Tony tried to focus on the fight, but could not help but be hyper aware of where his hands were. It was different than his fight with Cisco and it was not just because Layla was a girl. It was because she was Layla.
Sparks exploded in his stomach as her hands grabbed onto his chest. His own reaction embarrassed him, but he could not help it. He did not quite understand it. Even though they were in a fight, he still felt flustered at how close they were.
What did not help was how they were pretty much evenly matched. Layla had more experience with fighting, but Tony was way too stubborn to ever give up. That put them neck to neck as they both grabbed onto each other, trying to pin the other down.
At first Layla was doing pretty well. She felt a little weird being so close to Tony, but unlike him, she did not let that distract her. Or at least that was until he wrapped an arm around her waist and pushed her to the ground.
Using one hand to hold her in place, he tried told hold her down but she escaped his grasp before Frostee could start counting. Sweeping her leg under him, she knocked Tony over and got on top of him.
He was dazed for a moment, but quickly shook it off as he grabbed her and spun her around so that he was on top. Frostee was about to start counting again but Layla was able to slip out from under Tony.
Instead of getting up, they both stayed close to the floor, arms clutching onto each other as they tried to push the other onto the ground. Tony was about to overpower Layla when she suddenly moved to the side and he lost his balance. Taking that opening, Layla got on top of Tony again.
Frostee began counting but Tony was now too determined to be embarrassed. Before his time ran out, Tony flipped Layla over. They rolled around in the floor, neither of them able to keep the other down.
As they rolled around, trying to pin each other down, they did not realize how close they were to each other. When they began to grow tired and were practically out of breath, they stopped rolling around.
So that she would not try to pin him while he was catching his breath, Tony sat up with Layla still on his lap. As they breathed heavily, they both looked at each other, suddenly realizing that their faces were only a few inches apart. Their faces turned bright red as they quickly moved away from each other.
"Ooh." They could hear the teasing voices of the others as they watched in amusement.
"Give up yet, Toretto?" Layla asked.
"I'm just getting started." He said, despite being tired. They both were more tired than they would have wanted to admit, but they still continued the fight.
Stealing Layla's move, Tony swept her off of her feet and got on top of her. Layla's face flushed bright red. "Watch your hands, Toretto!" She quietly yelled at him.
Looking down, Tony realized that he was grabbing her chest. "Oh, uh, sorry." He quickly let go and she took the opportunity to get out from under him. They wrestled around a bit more while Tony was extra careful about where he touched her.
Despite the fact that he was trying to stay focused, he could not help his mind from thinking about how it felt when he touched her. The thought sparked a heat in his chest and tinted his cheeks a color of pink. Every time he tried to grab her or hold her down, he thought back to that moment and was so embarrassed that his grip weakened.
On the other hand, Layla was so embarrassed that she just wanted the fight to be over with. Being so close to him sparked feelings within her that she always tried to ignore. But now she could not ignore it anymore.
The entire time she could feel the other spy racers' eyes watching them. Maybe if they were not there she would have had some fun with Tony. But with them there she just wanted to get away from their eyes as soon as possible.
They wrestled a bit more before Layla finally had enough and decided to end it. Twisting out of Tony's arms, she got on top of him and pressed her body against his to keep him down. Her face was barely an inch away from his but she did not move. She could tell that the position flustered him and she used that to her advantage.
"One!" Frostee began to count. Tony tried to get out from under her but every time he moved his body pressed against hers, flustering him more. "Two! Three! Layla wins!"
Layla smiled, relieved that it was finally over. Butterflies exploded in Tony's stomach as he watched her. When they looked back at each other, they blushed and she got off of him.
"Meet me outside." Layla said before getting out of the ring and leaving the garage before any of the onlookers could tease her.
"Things were getting pretty heated, huh?" Frostee teased Tony as he stood up.
"I'm not sure what you're talking about." He said.
"Your face is bright red." Echo pointed out. Tony put his hands on his face to cool himself down as he got out of the ring and followed after Layla. He was both eager and nervous to find out what she was going to say.
When he stepped outside, he found her waiting for him. Her face was no longer bright red and her expression was unreadable. "About what happened in there, I'm sorry I touched you like that." Tony said.
Light pink brushed over her cheeks again at the thought, but she shook it out of her mind. "That's not what I wanted to talk about."
"It's not?"
"No." She stepped up to him and looked up into his eyes. "Kiss me."
"What?"
"The loser does whatever the winner wants, right?" She said. Tony had completely forgotten about their bet until now. "I want you to kiss me."
He was not sure what to say or how to respond. He could hardly even believe this was real. Layla wanted to kiss him? Him? This had to have been a dream.
At his hesitance, Layla took a step back as she looked away, suddenly embarrassed. She should not have assumed that he would want to kiss her. Now she just wanted the ground to swallow her whole.
Layla was about to walk away when Tony grabbed her hand and pulled her back to him. Before she could question what he was doing, he pressed his lips against hers. Layla was surprised but kissed back. They both felt amazing as fireworks exploded in both of their stomachs.
When they parted, both of their faces were flushed again, but neither of them minded. "If this is what happens every time you win, I should let you win more often." Tony said.
"Let me win? You don't need to let me win!" She said. "If you want we can go again right here right now!" Though she was challenging him, she was more of lightly teasing him and not actually upset.
"Alright, let's do it. Same bet?" He asked. She smirked.
    "You're on."
