Not a hugger

"Almost done!" Frostee said out loud as he mixed a combination of chemicals together. He had been working on a new experiment for several days now and was happy to find that he was finally close to finishing it.
As he stirred the mixture in the glass he was holding, he checked his notes to make sure he got it right. From what he could tell, it looked like the compound mixed together just as he had hoped. Now all he had to do was test it.
Just as he was about to go look for a test subject, Tony walked into the room in the garage that served as Frostee's lab. "Ooh, Tony! Just who I needed!" He said, excitement lighting in his eyes.
"You need me?" Tony asked, happy that someone actually wanted his help. "What do you need me to do?"
"Drink this." Frostee held out the glass that contained his experiment. He figured it should be safe for human consumption. Or at least he was eighty-nine percent sure.
Tony eyed the strange liquid. Should he really drink some random experiment Frostee made? Was it safe? He shrugged. What was the worst that could happen?
Tony took the glass and was about to drink it when Frostee quickly turned him around so that he was facing the door. "You'll want to face this way."
Tony was confused but brushed it aside. It was Frostee's experiment; he knew best. Lifting the glass to his lips, Tony drank all of its contents. Frostee looked at him hesitantly. "Um, you weren't really supposed to drink all of that."
"What? Oh no, are there side effects? Is something happening to me?" Tony asked, beginning to freak out.
"Don't worry, there aren't any side effects. Not that I know of." He added the last part under his breath. "If the experiment works then the effects just might last a bit longer." Tony began to turn around but Frostee stopped him. "No! You have to face the door!"
"Why? Is something supposed to happen? I don't feel any different." Before Frostee could answer him, Layla walked into the room.
As soon as Tony's eyes landed on Layla, he felt a fiery spark explode in his chest. The blood pumping in his veins felt as hot as lava. His heartbeat pounded so loud he felt like someone could have heard it a mile away.
He was not sure what came over him, but the moment his eyes landed on her all thoughts left him. As his mind went vacant, his body went on autopilot, leaving him in a daze.
"There you are Toretto." Layla said. He did not respond. Instead he just stared at her with a strange gleam in his eyes. Layla glanced over at Frostee. Before she could ask what was going on, Tony quickly approached her and with one swift movement, wrapped his arms around her.
Layla blinked in confusion. What was he doing? Why did he hug her out of nowhere? She was weirded out by what just happened, but what was even weirder than him hugging her out of nowhere was the fact that he did not let go.
    "What's going on?" She asked.
    "It worked!" Frostee exclaimed.
Layla sent him a glare. So he was the one behind this. "What worked?"
"My experiment! I was trying to find a way to make bad guys docile so they're easier to catch." He told her.
Tony tightened his grip on Layla as he nuzzled his face against hers. Layla groaned as she attempted to push him away again. But it did not work. "I think your little experiment worked a little too well."
"Hmm, I guess there was a side effect. Drinking a little was supposed to make him docile and attached to the first person he saw. But I didn't mean for him to be this attached!"
"How long will this last?" She asked.
"Um, I'm not exactly sure."
"What do you mean you're not sure?"
"This is my first test! I need to study its effects." He told her.
Layla rolled her eyes. "Can you at least get him off of me?"
"Umm." Frostee tried to pull Tony off of her but he would not budge. "Let me get reinforcements." He said on his way out of the room.
"Wait, don't leave me with him!" Layla called after him but he was already gone. Letting out a long breath, she glanced over at Tony. He smiled up at her. She groaned, folding her arms.
A few minutes later, Frostee returned with Cisco by his side. "Aww, Tony likes you." Cisco said when he saw a grumpy-looking Layla being embraced tightly by Tony.
"Haha, very funny. Get him off of me!" She yelled the last part.
"Alright, alright." Cisco grabbed onto Tony and pulled. Tony held onto Layla tight and it took Cisco a few minutes before he was able to pry him off of her. As soon as Tony was no longer in contact with Layla, he reached for her, using all his strength to resist Cisco.
"Thanks for getting him off me!" Layla said before quickly leaving the room. Tony felt a strong urge to go to her, to hold onto her.
He elbowed Cisco, making him let go of him, and rushed after Layla. Hearing the sound of footsteps quickly approaching, Layla turned. Before she could react, Tony captured her in a tight embrace again. But he did it so fast that the momentum knocked them both over.
They both fell onto the floor with Tony on top of Layla. For the first few seconds she was too surprised to realize what was happening. The only thing she was aware of was the strange pressure against her lips.
When the daze of the moment left her she opened her eyes, realizing what position they were in. The pressure she had felt was the feeling of his lips against hers. She froze, unsure what to do or how to process what just happened.
A sudden noise caught Layla's attention and she broke the accidental kiss. Turning to where the noise had come from, Layla found Echo watching with a look of surprise. "It's not what it looks like!" Layla said.
"Uhh, sure." Echo said. Before Layla could explain Echo quickly left to give them some alone time.
Layla groaned. "Toretto, get off of me!" He ignored her, refusing to let go. "Can we at least go to the couch or somewhere more comfortable?" She hoped that would get him to let go but it did not. Instead he picked her up, carried her to a couch, and sat down with her on his lap. "Are you serious, Toretto?"
He nuzzled against her as he squeezed her tighter. Layla sighed, giving up. She was not a hugger at all, but the longer he held her in his embrace she began to not mind it. After a few hours, instead of finding him annoying, she grew used to the warmth provided by his embrace. She hated to admit it, but she even liked it.
No, that could not be! She shook herself out of her thoughts. It was just that he had been doing it for so long that she was coming to terms with the fact that she could not get him off of her and had to grow used to him. She did not actually like it, did she?
She looked over at Tony and their eyes met. Layla's faced heated up and she quickly looked away. No. She did not like this. She tried to deny it to herself. His arms squeezed her waist again, sending butterflies flying through her stomach.
"Toretto," She muttered. "What are you doing to me?" Finally giving in, she stopped resisting his embrace and hugged him back as she rested her head against his chest.
"Aww, look at the love birds." Frostee said as he and Cisco entered the room.
"Shut up, you did this to me." She said. They just chuckled. "When will this wear off?"
"Maybe in a few hours?" Frostee made an educated guess. Layla let out an annoyed sigh, but really she felt a little sad about the thought of him letting her go. Though she would never admit it out loud, maybe she was more of a hugger than she thought. Or at least for Toretto she would make an exception.
