Mr Maddox: "it's not a paper exam"

Evelyn: "huh??"

Eris: "Then what kind of exam?"

Mr Maddox: "It is...hard to explain"

Jaxie: "Then why should we do it?"

She said it in a spiteful tone.

Kiya: ".......So what happens if we fail?"

Mr Maddox: "Just don't."

He didn't elaborate, still staring out the window.

All four of them stood in front of a door they hadn't seen before.

They were led to a hallway that was usually off limits for all students.

But today, it was opened for their test.

Mrs Aleph: "Hello students. You see this room beside me? This room will contain your tests"

She used her hand to gesture to the large, mysterious, arched door beside her.

Kiya heard subtle but very feigned strange noises coming from it.

Kiya: "Do you hear that?'

They whispered.

Eris: "No??"

She whispered back.

Mrs Aleph: "Excuse me girls, you must pay attention."

"girl?...."

Kiya thought.

Mrs Aleph: "Evelyn, you first"

Evelyn: "What? Why?!"

They hadn't done any studying

Jaxie: "i'll do it"

Mrs Aleph: "No. sh-"

Evelyn: "They"

Mrs Aleph: "....They must do it first"

Eris: "Really? like what's going to happen to Evelyn if they didn't go to that creepy door?"

Mrs Aleph: "The door makes his decision on which participant goes in what order, It will not work if the order is disturbed"

Eris:"S-so who's going after Evelyn...??"

Mrs Aleph: " Evelyn. Go now please."

Evelyn: "O-ok?"

Evelyn nervously walked towards the door and pushed it.

Suddenly, they were somewhere that was sunny.

They opened their eyes and saw an arena.

It was empty, except there was one person in front of them.

Evelyn assumed that this person was their foe, an enemy.

They had a relatively small stature, And fish-like features reminiscent of an axolotl.

Evelyn spun their morning star and headed towards the enemy, and so did they.

Evelyn threw their morning star straight at the head.

But as if the enemy could read their mind, they moved before they were struck by it.

The mysterious hazy person that they were fighting had a dagger.

The person struck the dagger close to Evelyn, but not close enough to cause any wounds, almost like it was purposeful.
