Nevertheless, Y/N didn't leave Cedric hanging. The girl agreed to meet up with him the next day, at four in the evening, after classes. For an early December day, it was extremely cold. She moved around in the snow as more fell from the darkening sky above her, passing time. "Were you waiting for a long time?" Cedric questioned as the pair walked next to each other, the lights of Hogwarts going further and further away from them. "Not at all," Y/N lied to not make the boy feel bad. Quite frankly, she was freezing, cursing herself for not wearing warmer clothes. Hogsmeade was not far away from the school, but the snow made it harder for the two to wade through it. It was still nice as the pair weren't the only ones with the idea to visit the small village. Many lovers walking before them. Cedric's hand held Y/N's tightly. The main reason why the girl agreed to visit Hogsmeade was that her wand had been broken the same day by a first-year student who accidentally ran into her, breaking it in half. The boy was smiling widely as the streets of Hogsmeade neared them.

Dervish and Banges was a shop Y/N had to visit before. The previous time was because of her clumsiness as the girl's wand's handle fell off after taking a hard hit on the floor. Thaddeus Traves laughed as Cedric and Y/N stepped into the quiet shop, the owner's wand repairing instruments out as soon as she saw the girl. "I suggest to be more careful with it. A wand cannot be broken too many times," Thaddeus remarked and gave the fixed wand back to Y/N who slipped it straight into her bag. "This time I wasn't the cause behind it," The girl joked and sighed. "Do you have wand cases? Protection glass? For extra protection," She added, making Cedric and the owner laugh. "The only protection for a wand is a careful hold," Thaddeus replied before Cedric and Y/N bid goodbyes to him, leaving the warmth of the shop.

The Three Broomsticks Inn was bustling with life. Many of the visitors were students Cedric and Y/N had seen on their way to the village, some being older wizards and witches. The couple was sitting in a corner, a great view of the inn before their eyes. The welcoming aura took over the whole building, making the girl feel a little more at ease with Cedric. "What do people talk about on dates?" Y/N asked to break the silence between the pair. "How is the fifth year for you?" Cedric said with a chuckle at the girl's question. "Hard, I'm scared for O.W.Ls, Flitwick comes to remind us about them every evening," The girl spoke, holding her empty Butterbeer glass. "The O.W.L.s are rather easy, just write down everything you know and you will pass. The N.E.W.Ts are scarier," Cedric spoke. "Looking at your grades you shouldn't really worry about O.W.Ls," The boy added and took a sip of his Butterbeer. "Thanks, Ced," Y/N replied as a very familiar pair of redheads stepped into the inn, their heads turning to Y/N's and Cedric's way immediately. "Good evening, lovebirds," Fred greeted, dropping on the seat next to Cedric. "What are you doing here?" Y/N asked, shocked and glad that the twins appeared there. "We heard our best friends are here, having a blast without us," George replied with a grin as he glanced at the girl, trying to figure out her spirit. The twins ordered Butterbeer for themselves as well and focused on conversing with the Hufflepuff student. The hours seemed to pass by in an instant after the Weasley twins arrived as they eased the awkwardness between Cedric and Y/N.

George and Y/N trailed behind Fred and Cedric who were in a deep conversation, not even looking at their way once as the group walked back to school. The girl's wand was lighting their way in the dark December night. The snow had stopped, leaving only big mountains at the side of the path. "Saved you from a pickle?" George asked playfully. Y/N laughed awkwardly but then quieted. "You did, thank you. It was getting a bit too awkward for my liking," She replied and sighed. "He asked me out for Yule Ball as well," The girl added, peeking at the redhead next to her. "I know. He slipped it yesterday at Dinner. He looked the proudest I have ever seen him," George spoke, voice lowered to not catch Cedric's attention. "I was about... Never mind, it doesn't matter. Did you get your wand fixed?" He asked, diverting the beginning of his sentence. "Yes, I did... How do you know about my broken wand?" Y/N questioned, confused as to why the boy knew about something so useless to him. "A careful observation," George answered simply as the group got closer and closer to Hogwarts.
