The clock struck midnight and everybody slept peacefully except for Y/N, who tossed around in her bed, unable to stop the thoughts about Cedric. She had been experiencing horrible nightmares, waking up in cold sweat every morning. Cedric's situation had scarred her for life and while the girl was slowly beginning to move on, it still haunted her. The light snores from Hermione and Ginny did not help her either and as quiet as possible, Y/N stood up. The girl tiptoed out of the room as she tried her best not to wake up the girls. She walked down the stairs quietly as the steps creaked under her feet. The kitchen was her favourite place to hang out at The Burrow as she headed to the room, in hopes of acquiring some water. Y/N reached for the glass cupboard and took one until she heard some moving behind her. "Merlin's-" She whisper-yelled, turning around swiftly. "Just me," George mumbled as he stood a few feet before her. "Please don't ever scare me like that," The girl replied and took a sip of water. "Sorry, love," The redhead chuckled and took a glass as well.

"Can't sleep either?" He questioned and poured himself Fire Whiskey from his parents' secret alcohol stash. Y/N's eyes widened at the gesture, eyebrow raised at George's actions. "What?" He questioned, quietly chuckling as he noticed the girl's confusion. "Nothing," She mumbled and sighed. "I couldn't fall asleep. The tournament is still tormenting me," Y/N added and put her glass away. George's face softened as he heard the girl's problem. He downed the shot with ease and washed his glass before setting it back. "I get it, but I might have something to take your mind off of it," The boy took her hand and began dragging her towards the front door. "Where are we going?" Y/N asked suspiciously only to get a quick smirk as a response. The pair made it outside, to the field the girl knew very well. "It might be too cloudy to stargaze but fresh air certainly helps," George finally replied as they sat down on the green grass. "I started to come here after I found you here. I hope you remember?" The redhead questioned as he eyed the girl.

Even though the clouds were thick, there still existed gaps for the moon to shine through, light making the field glisten magically. The girl admired the scenery around her, the night as peaceful as it usually was at The Burrow. The pair sat in comfortable silence together, Y/N tried to spot some stars while George just enjoyed her presence, eyes closed. "Thank you," She said suddenly with a soft smile and turned her head to look at the redhead next to her. "For what?" George asked as their eyes met. "For letting me stay here, it really means a lot to me," The girl added, her smile still on her face, as she thought about all the memories they had made together. "You don't have to thank me," The boy answered quietly and continued, "I'm just happy to have you here," He added, his voice calm as he looked at her. Even just his gaze made butterflies fly in Y/N's stomach and she turned to the sky quickly, hoping the darkness covered at least a bit of her deep red blush. The air was cold, usual for the British weather and the girl shivered. It didn't go unnoticed by George as he eyed her in worry. "Are you cold?" The boy asked. "Just a little. It's fine-" Y/N began her sentence but George was already taking his sweater off. In a swift move, the sweater was on her shoulder.

"Thank you, but won't you get cold?" She questioned him, concerned, as Y/N pulled George's dark red sweater over her head. "Not when I'm here with you," The boy replied with a playful smirk and winked. "It looks better on you anyway,"  George added and watched the girl get flustered. "What a charmer, Mr. Weasley," Y/N commented with a chuckle and lowered her head, the scent of his cologne washing over her. "Always," The boy said and laughed, running his hand through his hair red hair. The coldness was beginning to become unbearable to Y/N even with George's sweater on her. The girl stood up, the boy following the motion. The redhead grabbed her hand before she could walk away as Y/N intertwined their hands. The Burrow's beauty never failed to amaze Y/N as he glanced around the luscious fields in awe. "It's so beautiful, isn't it?" She muttered, not expecting an answer from George. "It is. And your presence makes it even more beautiful," He added as a gust of wind came over them, ruffling the pair's hair. Y/N wanted to skip to the house quickly but was stopped by George who stood in place. "George? Is everything alright?" She asked, confused. George closed the distance between them, sliding his hands around the girl's waist, holding her there with a strong grip. Their kiss, the first kiss, was sudden. Y/N couldn't describe the emotions she had running through her as they all hit her like a ton of bricks. It felt like everything finally fit into place, his gentle and warm touch leaving tingles on her body. One thing was for sure, George didn't want to let go of her and neither did Y/N.
