"Are you sure about that?" Y/N questioned George at breakfast. "Why not, love? The boy replied with a smirk, proud of his and Fred's genius idea. "But what if-" George's expression dropped and he raised a finger and placed it in front of the girl. "It's our last year, they can't do anything to us. After all, education isn't our thing," He spoke and then smiled again. The girl sighed and looked out of the big window of the Great Hall. It was foggy for a late May morning but she didn't care about that. The realisation of her beginning last year was terrifying to her. The fact that George's last year was ending as well was even more terrifying. Y/N knew it was a normal part of life to grow older and graduate school but for a moment she wished time would stop. "Love, are you there?" George nudged her softly, trying to gain her attention. "Sorry, George. I got lost in my thoughts," The boy cocked an eyebrow up at the revelation. "And why's that? Were you thinking of me again?" He questioned with a chuckle. "Very much," Y/N gave him a small smile. "I just don't want you to leave Hogwarts," She added and looked straight into his eyes. "Oh, love. You know I can't do that. When we open the shop, I honestly think I can't even leave Diagon Alley," George grabbed her in a tight hold and kissed her forehead. "I'll send you an owl every day if it'll ease you just a bit," He whispered to her ear, earning a smile in response.

On a fine Saturday morning, on the day of the fifth-year O.W.L exams, the girl sat in her usual spot. "Oh, come on, Hermione. You'll pass with ease," Y/N comforted a hyperventilating Hermione who was about to cry from the frustration. "But what if I don't? What if I fail, what will I do then?" Hermione's voice was raised as she eyed her notes, grabbing her hair, rocking back and forth in her seat. From where Y/N was sitting, one would've thought that Hermione had gone mad. It wasn't completely wrong since the girl had been locked up in her dorm for the past week, studying. Y/N sighed and turned to Fred, George and Angelina on the other side of her. "Mom thinks we have completely lost our minds," Fred snickered as he took a sip of his juice. "IS she wrong?" Angelina questioned with a laugh. "Oh come on, dear. Where's your sense of adventure?" Fred asked and kissed his girlfriend's cheek. "Besides, the joke shop market is untapped, it's going to be a huge hit either way," George added with a smile. "So, dear lads! How's the shop coming along?" Lee chimed into the conversation, appearing from nowhere and sitting down at the Gryffindor table. "Oh, just brilliant! We have already..." Fred started explaining the new details about the shop.

Fred's explanation flew past Y/N as she felt a tap on her thigh. "Can I talk to you for a second, love?" George whispered to her ear in a low voice. "Of course. Here or somewhere else?" The girl said as she stood up, understanding immediately it was a private conversation. The table's attention was on them for a second as George waited for the girl to stand up. "Where are you love birds off to?" Fred almost shouted over the Great Hall, earning a laugh from those around him. "We're going to snog in the corridor," George replied sarcastically, making his twin laugh. Y/N chuckled softly as she turned towards the boy oh so close to her. The pair's walk was quiet and rather long as they walked through the school to the bridge next to the school. The warm summer air welcomed George and Y/N as the sun reached its peak slowly. As they walked, their fingers brushed against each other. It was a comfortable silence yet the girl was a tad bit confused by the boy's actions. "So, is everything alright?" Y/N asked with a concerned tone and turned to look at the redhead. "Yes, love. I just wanted to have a little quiet moment with you," He added and intertwined their fingers.

The girl looked over the edge of the bridge. The river was slowly flowing below the bridge, the only noticeable sound. "I honestly can't believe it's already ending. I mean the school year just began," Y/N mumbled after a bit of silence. "And you won't be here next year," The girl averted the conversation to that topic again, making George chuckle. "You make it sound like I am dying or like you won't see me ever again," The boy grasped Y/N's hand tighter as he smiled. The girl sighed and then smiled too, looking at the redhead next to her. "I know. It's just unusual to be in Hogwarts without your pranks... without you," George smoothed his hand over her knuckles as he eyed her hand. "I have to say the same thing about you," The boy said with a chuckle, making Y/N look at him. The smile George had was the warmest Y/N had ever seen and it felt like she was falling in love with it, with him every time she dared to look. The girl's cheeks were turning into a red colour as their eyes met, her heart beating faster with every passing second. "I'm serious, Y/N. Words can't express how much I care about you," The world quieted for her as the words left George's mouth. Millions of butterflies filled her as the sentence sunk in. "George," She whispered, trying to form a sentence but failing as nothing else came to her mind. "Y/N," George said with a chuckle and placed a strand of hair behind her ear. She could make up every little freckle that covered the redhead's nose.

Y/N looked up to him. George watched her the same way he had in the Burrow, at the Yule Ball, in the hallways, at dinner, at breakfast, at Dumbledore's and Umbridge's assemblies, everywhere, every time. It was the same look Y/N could never describe. "Will you be mine?" The girl almost choked on her own breath as the words she had wanted to hear for so long were finally heard. They echoed in her ears as she stared, unable to reply. A smile tugged at George's lips as he saw Y/N return to earth, her eyes filling with adoration. "I got worried you'd never say that..." The girl mumbled and she was pulled in, closer to the redhead. A beat later, their lips met, in a loving, caring kiss. Y/N's hands wrapped around George, wishing that the moment would never end. As they pulled away from the kiss, their foreheads rested together. "I love you," George said softly. "The summer at the Burrow, I knew, right there I knew that you're my home. The person I want to grow old with. The person I want to build a family with," The boy would've added more but his words got caught and he took a deep breath. "God, it actually drives me insane how much I love you," He managed to say as their eyes met again. "Georgie, I love you too," Y/N replied and the pair kissed again. "Can't get rid of me that easily now can you love?" George whispered to her with a wink as they both chuckled. "I wouldn't change it for the world,"

Just like the twins had planned, they left with a bang, setting off hundreds of fireworks during the fifth years' O.W.Ls. Of course, Umbridge was furious and wanted to expel the boys right after they flew away but they were gone. The twins flew away on their brooms and after that, they never returned to Hogwarts, not even to their graduation. Y/N chuckled as she read the letter from George. Their shop was coming along well and Molly's opinion on the idea was beginning to change. Ron and Harry were in an elated mood ever since the exams because they were cancelled. Hermione was slightly happy as well and even though her studying was wasted time, she didn't have to go through the worry of exams. Y/N smiled as the last schoolyear's assembly was over, Dumbledore stepping down from his podium. So much good had happened that Y/N's worries about the next year vanished.
