The long room was quiet, only the soft bubbling from the back of the shop echoed to the front door. The shelves were stocked with all sorts of different potions, ranging from love potions to the twins' famous puking pastilles everyone feared. Y/N stepped further into the brand-new shop in Diagon Alley. She heard some mumbling and then loud laughing from the top. Looking up, the girl saw the twins beaming at her. "Hello, Y/N!" The redheads said at the same time. "Enjoying yourself?" Fred questioned with a laugh, glancing at George. "Can we interest you with love potions?" George added and they both walked down the stairs, Fred going to the back. George gently kissed Y/N's cheek and smiled. "Nice of you to stop by," George whispered to her and then backed away, eyeing her flustered face. Y/N opened her mouth to reply but sighed. "Cat got your tongue? Don't worry, dear. Come, I'll show you around," The redhead's hand slid around her waist and pulled her gently.
"I'm so proud of you," Y/N mumbled as George's small tour was over and they both stood on the stairwell, looking at the shelves and potions. "Thank you, love. That means a lot to me," He replied and grasped the girl's hand. "What does Molly think about this?" Y/N questioned after a bit of silence, her gaze now on the redhead next to her. "She is in two minds. I'm sure she will soon change her mind though. But Dad is very pleased. At least that's something," George whispered the last part, his eyes showing a hint of regret. "I would stay here and help but-" Y/N began. "No. As much as we'd appreciate it, no," Y/N frowned at her boyfriend's response but nodded as she understood the reason. "Are you staying at the Burrow?" He questioned after the silence had taken over the shop again. "Yes. I had a not-so-pleasant encounter at home again. I decided I'll never go back there." Y/N replied, the situation still clear in her mind. "After I graduate, I'll never set foot in that damned house ever again." The girl added and watched Fred move around on the ground floor. "My door's always open," George replied quietly. "Oi, lovebirds! Are you coming to help me or will you stay there?" Fred yelled, looking at the pair. Y/N and George scurried down the stairs, laughing.
Later, in the evening, when Y/N had helped the twins with everything she could, she sat in George's small apartment on top of the shop, looking outside the window. It was raining again but she didn't mind. It trickled down slowly, creating pathways on the glass. "What are you thinking of, love?" George questioned as he sat down next to her, his head on her shoulder. "Of everything. But it's fine." Y/N turned to him and smiled, kissing his forehead. With a quick move, Y/N was lying down, George's hands around her tightly. She laughed quietly and hit the redhead's chest softly. "You need to stop doing that," The girl exclaimed and sighed to George's chest. "It's my love language, dear," George muttered, smiling to himself.
