Seventeen

STILES

I stood in the forest back to my normal self as I headed back to the school. The Oni was no longer in me so I was wondering where it had went. "Niklaus! Hey!" Lucifer called catching up to me. "Lucifer. Hey! What are you doing out here?" I asked. "What do you mean? You turned into a giant monster that was on fire, which by the way, was THE COOLEST SHIT I HAVE EVER SEEN!" He said with a smile. 

I broke out in laughter as we walked through the woods towards the school. "What happened after I left?" I asked. "Well, remember what I said about my dad?" He asked. "Yeah? Why?" I asked. "Well, Principal Saltzman apparently knew him....told me that...my dad is dead." He answered sadly. 

"Gee man! That sucks. Sorry to hear to that. How you doing?" I asked. "I'll be okay. It'll take some time getting over the fact that he's dead and I never got to know him. And now the only thing I look forward to is finding my mother." He explained with a shrug. "Your mother? What happened to your mother?" I asked furrowing my brows.

"When I was 17, I was killed by a drunk driver. Then I woke up as a vampire, well, Heretic, I guess. Anyway, I didn't know what was happening and I killed someone because I was super thirsty. After a couple of months, I finally told her. And low behold, guess what?" He explained. 

"What?" I asked smiling. "She's a vampire too!" He exclaimed. "You're kidding!" I said wide-eyed. "Yeah! Never asked her how old she was because...I was afraid she'd kill me. Because you never ask a woman her age...or is it their weight? You know what? Doesn't even matter, because I'm just gonna assume it's both to be safe." He stated. 

"What happened to your mom?" I asked. "No clue. She went missing about a year and half later. Never heard from again. Never saw her again. Nothing. Just poof. Gone. Like a ghost." He answered. "What was her name?" I asked. "Jade Parker. At least I think that's what her last name was. She never really told me her maiden name." He answered. 

I thought for a moment. Didn't there used to be a Jade that went to the Salvatore School a long, long time ago? I shook the thought away before looking at Lucifer. "Don't worry, mate. We'll find her eventually." I said patting him on the back with a smile before heading to the school.

We arrived at the school and entered the hall when I was hit but the noxious smell of blood. I sped to Alaric's office and found the Samurai was dead with his throat slit. "That's little disconcerting." I announced getting the attention of Alaric, Hope, Josie, Chad, and Klaus. I looked around. 

"Where's Landon?" I asked. "He's gone. The Oni has him." Hope answered. "What?!" I exclaimed. "How is that even possible? Landon never even touched me." I said. "Unless..." I said looking at Klaus. "I transferred it to you and you transferred it to Landon who then killed the Samurai knowing that his katana was the only thing that could kill him." I explained. 

"That...was...a really good guess. How did you come to that?" Alaric asked. "One, I've done this before. Two, I'm not an idiot." I answered before leaving the office in search of Landon.

NIGHT

It was night now as I walked through the town square. I finally found Landon on the ground dead with the sword next to him on the ground. I looked up to find Lizzie chained to a tree. "Well...this...doesn't bode well." I muttered. "Landon!" Hope shouted. "Lizzie, are you okay?" Josie asked her running up with Hope and Chad. "No. I am super crazy. But at least there's a reason this time." Lizzie answered as her eyes glowed red. "The demon's in me." She added. I walked to the chains around and tightened them. "Get away from her." Josie told me. 

"I'm fine. Don't worry about me." I said as Lizzie growled at me. "Oh, sorry, that is embarrassing. We haven't met yet, have we? I'm Lizzie." She said extending her hand out. "Niklaus. And uh...probably not a good idea to shake your hand right now." I said with a smirk. "Right. Sorry." She said smiling.
