It took Chan a total of 6 days without seeing Felix for longer than 5 minutes when he decided he's had enough of it.

"Why are you still sitting here?" Felix asked, noticing Chan had already finished his latte and was still sitting by the coffee bar.

"I'm waiting for you to get off of work."

"I don't get off for another 5 hours," Felix explained

"You get off in 5 minutes," Lily corrected.

Felix death glared her but he had to admit, he missed Chan. He also knew it would hurt worse to start hanging out with him again. But maybe one time wouldn't hurt.

"Where are we going?"

"Are you hungry?" Chan asked, happy that the younger finally agreed.

"Yeah, and I know a good restaurant nearby."

"Sounds good."

"Sounds like a date," Lily said quiet enough so only Felix could hear.

"Shut up," he replied, clocking out and walking out of the shop with Chan.

They walked in silence and Chan glanced down at Felix's hand. It was small, cute, even. He wanted to hold it and he was spacing out too bad to even comprehend that it was wrong.

"What are you doing?" Felix asked as he stopped walking and looked at Chan.

"Sorry," he shook his head and took his hand back.

"You realize that this is why I've been avoiding you, right?" Felix asked with a scoff. "You can't do shit like that and pretend it never happened. Holding my hand, carrying me on a beach then claiming that you have a soulmate that you're in love with 2 seconds later. It's not fair."

"I thought you've been dating other people?"

"That doesn't excuse anything that you've done. I've been going on a singular date with people but I feel nothing with anyone other than you which makes me feel like shit so it's not like I've ever been on a second."

"You were the one who said that you just wanted to be friends. Why did that change the moment that you found out that I have a soulmate?" Chan asked back.

"Because I'm stupid and still thought that i had a chance," Felix said with tears in his eyes.

"Felix," Chan sighed and pulled the younger to sit down on the bench in front of them. "I didn't tell you everything about Minho."

"I don't want to hear anything more about you're perfect soulmate. I need to go."

"Felix wait-" he said, grabbing his wrist.

"What?!"

"Minho got sick."

"What do you mean?" Felix questioned.

"He passed away a few weeks before I came here. Staying in Korea wasn't...good for me?"

"I'm sorry," Felix started sobbing, "I'm sorry for pressuring you or making anything more difficult for you or making you uncomfortable."

"You've been the only thing that's helped at all," Chan explained. "Can I hug you?"

Felix silently wrapped his arms around the older as they stayed silent for a while.

"We knew before we got the tattoos. But Minho knew he was sick so he didn't want me to see his tattoo once he got it. When we were little he was convinced it was gonna be a cat so I got a tattoo after he passed, the one he always wanted."

"Can I see it?" Felix asked quietly and Chan pulled down his shirt to reveal the cat tattoo on his shoulder.

"It's cute...but what about you're actual soulmate tattoo?"

"Do you think that they have meanings?" Chan asked, ignoring Felix's question.

"Yeah, I think some of them do."

"What do you think yours means?" Chan asked watching Felix pull up his sleeve and starring down at the hourglass.

"I think it means to be patient, wait for my soulmate. I've never really been good at that though. I've always kinda dated people but it's been making me feel really horrible lately so I think it's just a sign to be patient and wait for the right person."

"I saw it as a sign that we had already spent our time waiting to see if we would have matching tattoos. But once I realized Minho was sick I realized it was a warning...we didn't have a lot of time left." Chan said and Felix's mind started spiraling.

"What...what is yours?"

"Don't you already know?" Chan asked with a weak laugh. "Why else would you be so obsessed with me?" He asked, attempting to lighten the mood a bit.

Chan slowly lifted up his sleeve and showed Felix his identical hourglass tattoo. Felix touched it lightly with his finger. This is something he's always wanted and although the circumstances weren't what he pictured, he wouldn't change it for everything.

"Maybe mine is also a sign...to wait for you. You know? Like let you heal but be here for you as a friend until you're okay with being more."

"But I don't think that's ever gonna happen. I loved him so much Felix, I'm sorry."

"You don't have to apologize for anything. I can handle just being friends and I mean it this time, for as long as you need. I'll be waiting for you."
