Today was a little bit more difficult on Chan than usual.

It was his birthday and all he wanted to do was spend it with Minho.

But he couldn't.

He couldn't stay inside all day because there was no way that would help.

So he forced himself to go out. He sat by a small pond by his house for a while, thinking about all the things he could possibly be doing with Minho right now if he could be there with him.

At the very least, he wished he could be sitting next to Minho's grave, as close to him as he possibly could be. The idea of coming to Australia suddenly felt like a bad one.

There was nothing that was going to push him past it, nothing to make the pain even ease. At least it didn't seem like it.

He ended up going to the cafe. He hoped the freckled boy wouldn't be there but by now he knew that was never the case.

But surprisingly he didn't see him when he walked in, just Lily.

He silently handed her cash, knowing that even she had remembered Chan's usual order by now.

She could tell something seemed weird so she silently made and gave him his latte, Chan going off to sit in his usual corner seat.

He was spacing off for a while until he heard his phone ring.

Chan
Hyunjin

Hello?

Happy Birthday!

Thank you...do you mind doing me a favor?

What is is? Is everything going good in Australia? You're doing okay?

Yeah, everything's been good. Can you bring some flowers to Min's grave. Tell him that I miss him and I wish he were here? Chan said quietly, letting a small tear fall down his face but not daring to let a sound slip out. He didn't want to worry Hyunjin. He at least wanted him to think that he was doing better, even if he wasn't.

Of course Hyunjin replied without hesitation I gotta go but I'll check up on you again soon, okay?

Okay, bye Hyunjin

Bye

He tried to wipe the tears away but it was difficult to make them stop so he resorted to just accepting it as he stared out the window.

"How are you?" He heard a deep voice say as someone sat next to him, no apron this time, just a long sleeve black t-shirt and blue jeans. "Oh-"

Chan let out an awkward laugh as he aggressively whipped his face, "Amazing," he replied sarcastically, "how about you?"

"Do you wanna talk about it?" Felix asked quietly.

"No."

"Do you want me to leave you alone?" He asked, earning silence as a response for what felt like a century.

"...No."
