Poppy and Branch were hanging out as they normally did, with Branch drawing up the plans for renovations to the bunker and Poppy scrapbooking when Poppy asked a question. “Hey Branch, when's John Dory's birthday?" Branch froze, suddenly deep in thought, when was his birthday? “I don't know, why?" Branch asked, resuming his work. “Because Viva and I are working on planning each of your guys' birthdays now that you're back together. It's gotta be special since it'll be the first birthdays you guys have spent together in two decades.” Poppy said, sitting up from her place on the floor, leaning back on her feet. “Look, it’s been a while since i celebrated any of my brothers’ birthdays, the only reason I remember some of them is because of Brozone memorabilia. Heck, I didn’t even remember my own birthday when you first became my friend. Remember?” Branch said, turning to look at her over his shoulder. Poppy gave a pout, then got the idea to go up the family tree.
Poppy went up to Floyd’s room, knocking on the door. A muffled “come in” sounded through the door and Poppy opened the door to see Floyd sitting on the floor with several sheets of paper around him, a guitar in his lap and a pencil in his mouth. “Oh hey Poppy, what can I help you with?” Floyd said after removing the pencil from his mouth. “Ok so, Viva and I were kind of planning yours and your brothers’ birthdays, since y’know, it’s the first birthdays you guys will be celebrating together in decades. And I realized, I don’t know when JD’s birthday is. I searched for it on every piece of Brozone merch I could find, because yours and Bruce’s and Clay’s birthdays were put out in the public but I couldn’t find John’s. I asked Branch but he said he didn’t know. I figured you might know or one of the other bros might.” Poppy said quickly, getting a little discouraged when she saw Floyd’s reaction to her words. “Sorry Poppy, I don’t remember John’s birthday either. I don’t think we ever celebrated it when we were kids. Maybe Clay or Bruce know, they’re older so maybe I was just too young to remember.” Floyd said sadly. Poppy gave a sigh, thanked Floyd and left, going up to Clay’s room.
Poppy knocked on Clay’s door, hearing giggling and whispering coming from inside before Viva opened the door. “Poppy!!!” Viva said excited to see her sister, pulling Poppy into a hug and jumping up and down with her. “Viva!!! When did you get here?” Poppy said happily, glad to see her sister. “Like twenty minutes ago. Clay invited me over to hangout and watch a movie. I didn’t realize you were here!” Viva replied, giggling a little. Over Viva’s shoulder Poppy could see Clay, sitting on his bed with snacks, drinks and the movie set up, his face a little red. “Well, maybe we can hangout later after you guys get done with your movie. But first I have a question for Clay.” Poppy said before gently pushing Viva out of the way to step into the room. “What’s up Popstar?” Clay asked. Poppy took a deep breath before explaining the situation. “So Viva and I are trying to plan your guys’ next birthdays now that you’re all together. It was fine until I realized I don’t know when John Dory’s birthday is. I already asked Floyd and Branch and neither of them knew, Floyd told me to ask you or Bruce. So do you know?” Clay made a face of concentration as he thought for a moment before answering. “Nope, sorry. I don’t remember ever even celebrating his birthday.” Poppy groaned, a little frustrated that this simple question couldn’t be answered. “How do you not know your own brother’s birthday? I still remember Poppy’s and I was like three when she was born.” Viva said, appalled that Clay didn’t know his brother’s birthday. “We just never celebrated it. Grandma never took a day for it, if she did, she never told us. So I don’t know.” Clay said, holding his hands up in defense. “You know what Poppy? I wanna help you get to the bottom of this mystery. So, sorry Clay but our movie date is going to be put on hold until we get this figured out.” Viva said as her and Poppy walked over to Bruce’s room, Viva rapidly knocking on the door.
Bruce answered the door, looking a little peeved until he realized it was Poppy and Viva at his door. “Hey, what can I do for you ladies?” Bruce asked, casually leaning his arm against the doorframe. Poppy and Viva began explaining their reason for bothering Bruce at the same time. “We were trying to plan your guys’ birthdays since it’ll be your first one together in years and we’ve discovered that nobody knows when John Dory’s birthday is. Do you know when it is?” Bruce was a little taken back but thought for a few moments before responding. “Ehhhh, I don’t think so.” Bruce thought for a little while longer. “Wait, I just got a flashback of John and me when we were really young, before any of the others were born. He’s wearing a jack o 'lantern shirt and I tried to steal a cupcake off the table and grandma tells me no because they’re for John’s special day. So probably sometime in October?? I think? Sorry that we’re useless for you girls, we appreciate you ladies doing something nice for us but you should just go ask John, he’ll definitely know.” Bruce closed the door, leaving the girls in the hallway. Poppy pouted, a little angry. Viva let out a frustrated noise before stomping off to JD’s room, Poppy following behind her.
