Slowly opening his eyes, the bright light coming through the windows from the hot burning son pierces through Zhan’s eyes which results to him closing them immediately. Taking in deep breath, he opened his eyes again slowly adapting to the eye piercing light. He took in is surrounding and saw he was lying on an hospital bed and his mom on a couch fast asleep probably from exhaustion as she was snoring lightly. Zhan smiled coldly and turns his attention to the white hospital ceiling for which his thoughts immediately drifted to the previous occurrence before he passed out and also his lover who was probably on his death bed.
Thinking about his lover made him jolt up immediately from the bed and rushed weakly to the adjacent room were his lover was laid.
Getting to the room, he prayed internally for a good condition of his lover despite him knowing it deep down that that was only a lie as what doctor told them was nothing close to being in a good condition. He could only hope his dad would be able to find a healer to help his lover. He promises he would do everything and anything just to get his lover back on his feet even if it means him sacrificing himself. That young man had gone through a lot in this life. He doesn’t deserve such cruel fate. There are a lot of people out there who deserves more than this not his lover. ‘Why weren’t the deities by his side?’ He thought.
Taking in another breathe, he slowly opens the door with a creak sound and hesitatingly, slowly got in afraid of meeting disappointment of his lover’s state. Raising his head, his heart shook violently against is chest that he couldn’t help the sob that escaped his lips and placing his hands over his lips to muffle his sobs on seeing his lover’s traumatizing state. An ICU was connected to his lover to stable his breathing, his face had a small bandage were he had a light cut, and his broken leg was also bandaged and what was more traumatizing was that pained look on his lover’s closed eyes. Zhan couldn’t stop shaking were he stood and he could hear light sobs coming from his lover. Clenching his fists tightly, he walked slowly towards Yibo who opened his eyes on hearing a light and approaching footsteps.
Tears steamed down from both their eyes and Zhan immediately sat down next to his lover and taking his face in his hands.
-a-are you okay? a-re you in pain. t-tell m-me so I can help you.- Zhan says with a broken voice which Yibo smiled lightly and caresses Zhan’s face, clearing out his tears.
-you look pale Zhan.- Yibo says weakly with a hoarse voice.
-I’m fine. I’m okay.- Zhan says holding on his lover’s hand that was still on his face.
-you look tired. How about you go back home to shower and have something to eat first.- Yibo says worried. Zhan shook his head disapprovingly. Yibo sighed lightly and groaned loudly feeling a sharp pain on his head to which Zhan snapped and Yibo immediately broken into tears.
-w-what is it? Does anywhere hurts?- Zhan asks worried.
-m-my head. It hurts so much- Yibo says closing his eyes and breathed in slowly to stable his breathing even when connected to an ICU.
-okay. I’ll go call the doctor. I’ll be back in a second.- Zhan says and was about getting up but his hand was held tightly by Yibo.
-t-they won’t be able to help.- Yibo says weakly.
-b-but we have to try something, we can’t just leave you like this Yibo.- Zhan says with tears streaming from his eyes.
-I’m fine it doesn’t hurt that much either.- Yibo says with a very visible lie which Zhan could detect.
-I can’t just sit and watch you being in pain Yibo.- Zhan says breathingly.
-don’t go. Don’t leave me. Just… I only want you to hug me. Can you do that for me? Please- said Yibo staring deep into Zhan’s eyes who let out a chocked sob and nodded.
Zhan walks shakingly towards Yibo and laid down on his arms resting his head on his chest.
-are you sure you’re fine?- Zhan asked.
-mmm. Dad already told me he’ll be out for a while to look for someone who could help as the others he called couldn’t do anything so all we have to do is wait.- Yibo says trying to soothe Zhan’s emotions.
-this was supposed to be our wedding day.- Zhan whispered breathing deeply.
-I know. Let’s rest for now, I promise we would find a way through this and our wedding will still be held. This is only a little set back which would eventually be overcomed okay?- Yibo weakly and tearingly says to which Zhan nodded.
-so rest. You look too pale that I’m afraid you might get sick. Rest for now Zhanzhan.- Yibo says and was met by silence as Zhan had already fallen asleep due to exhaustion. Taking Zhan closer to himself, he drifted back to sleep which he actually didn’t know would be his last.
