The morning sun shining brightly in the sky with its light spreading real wide  in creating a breathtaking view completely extinguishing the dark. The morning birds chirping at each other as if singing love songs in their own language that only them could understand. The weather getting colder than it was before and slight, snow could be seen visible to the eye. It is winter and all being already wrapped on thick clothes going to work, school and so on while others still on their beds, cuddling like never before as if it would heal the ice freezing feeling inside which indeed worked.

Lizzy steps out from her building and locking her doors for protection. Turning, she breathes in the cooling and calming air which filled her lungs with contentment that she smiled gracefully. Setting on her long coat properly for the protection from the cold, she walks cautiously, being mindful of her steps so as to avoid falling on the slippery floor, she walks to her garage for her car. On her way to the garage, she was held back by a huge hand on her forearm which as a result made her stop on her tracks.

Turning to see who the intruder was, she looked at him wide eyed and her hand clenched into a fist and heart beating gracefully on her chest. She was nervous. Why wouldn’t she be? Afterall she had been avoiding this particular someone for the past three days since her encounter with her mom. She knows he’s here right now because he’s worried and wants to know why but she isn’t in the right senses to answer those questions as she might end up not answering them at all.

How would she tells him it’s over between them? She loves him, that she is sure about but… but with her mom in the picture and the threats she received, she wouldn’t be so greedy and let harm come to her only heartbeat. Instead, she would have to let him go. He still has a life to live and not wasting it on a terrible person like her. She doesn’t deserve his love and attention. She doesn’t even deserve the word LOVE.
Sighing inwardly in encouragement, she raises her free hand, taking the other hands from her forearm.

“what are you doing here Cheng?”  she asks.

“why have you been avoiding my calls? I’ve been trying to get through to you but you’ve been avoiding me and I was worried.”

“there’s no need for that. As you can see, I’m fine and breathing so please leave.” She says coldly and Cheng frown.

“did I do something wrong Liz? You’re acting cold towards me right now. If I did, please let me know so I can fix it.” Cheng says trying to place his hands on her face but was avoided.

“you didn’t. I just don’t want to see you anymore.” she says and was about walking to her car when Cheng spoke stopping her on her tracks.

“is it because of your mom?” he walks towards her and standing right in front of her.
“she found out right?” he asked but all Lizzy could do was remain silent and looking into his eyes trying hard not to be teary.

“Lizzy.” He says softly taking her hands in his and looking deep into her eyes.

“I’ve told lots of times already. We can stand up to her. We can defend ourselves. Our love is stronger than you think. You shouldn’t be tied to someone who you don’t feel love for and being forced to be together with. Your mom won’t be able to harm me. She won’t be able to harm us. Lizzy please. I know it deep down that you’re a very good person. You’re just passing through a lot of pressure that’s why you do what you’re doing. Despite that, I still love you Lizzy.”

‘I also love you too Cheng. If only your life wasn’t in danger right now, I would have said those words to you. But no matter how hard I tried, I can’t bring myself on saying it because I love you and don’t want to get your hopes up. If only the situation was different.’ Her heart screamed out those words which could only end in her thoughts but wasn’t able to voice them out.
