[ the crew...is falling apart ]

merry couldn't be fixed.

usopp's twin had told her and zoro that when he checked the ship thoroughly, and she couldn't find herself to believe it for a moment.

merry's keel was broken. her lifeline, the center of the boat, the one thing that could never be replaced because replacing it would be equal to building an entire new ship. she had no strength to sail anymore; she knew merry was damaged, but to think she had a zero percent chance of sailing again...

while zoro didn't seem all that affected and could only sit down again, she walked up to the head of the ship and leaned over the railings, mushing her cheek against the head, whispering, "can you really not go on anymore...merry?"

zoro noticed her and even herd her, but he provided no words of comfort. the ship was dear to him just as it was dear to the rest of the crew, but it was painful to realize that there adventures with merry, a crew member as well, was entering the last phase of her life.

but [name] didn't wish to believe it.

"you can go on, right? i'm sure you can. merry is strong, she loves us..." her head was buried in her arms, forehead leaning against merry's own head. "if only...we were more careful with you, merry...i'm sorry. i'm sorry we couldn't take care of you properly..."

zoro hadn't seen [name] so vulnerable before.

sighing, he stood up, and just in time, sanji called out from below the ship, "[name]-chan! mosshead!" chopper was with him too...? wasn't he with robin before they left? what happened?

she walked over to the cook, helping him up, "hold on. where's robin?"

chopper was the one to reply to her question, "it's my fault! i got distracted by some books and...robin went off somewhere, we couldn't find her!"

robin was missing?

this just keeps getting worse and worse.

but where could robin go in this city? what was her aim? did she run off somewhere? was she abducted? all in her absence and ever since arriving in this city, [name] wasn't able to get anything straight. what was going on?

as [name] devised what to do, sanji asked zoro why he had such a grim look. when he broke the news of the condition of merry to them, just like [name], sanji couldn't believe it. "this ship...can't be repaired anymore? even if we have money?"
