chains.
there were chains surrounding her in that darkness, and they were crowding her head at the same time as well. the chains were moving on their own to wrap themselves around her figure, yet her eyes were hollow and her hands numb.
the scent of sunflowers intoxicated her existence and made her want to clutch her heart and breathe in oxygen that refused to come in, but she couldn't.
the scent of blood enters next. her hollow eyes full of shadows stare down upon the pieces of flesh and bones on the floor, staining the stones, and next, her feet. she feels cold, all of a sudden, but her feet remain warm.
red.
everything has gone red.
once warm eyes that teether with a placid hue, a color of the sky when daylight peeked out. her bright, sweet smile, reserved for a few edges of her lips that gently bent when that sheen of laughter glistened in their happy and rare times. the hugs, the comforting words, the head pats, the 'it'll be okay's and 'i'm sorry's.
and then her convulsing body, skeleton jumping in and out, limbs twitching and eyes gaunt. the death rattle swallowed up her voice, limbs twitching and eyes gaunt. the arms that she used to wrap the red scarf around her fell to her lap, and her eyes closed in her embrace.
the warmth fading away to leave an ice-cold corpse.
she drowns, she loses breathing, and she feels her body go numb, not that it already was. she finds herself lost; where is she? at her mother's grave on the hill overlooking the town, in her tight cell that never got kissed by the sunlight or the place where she lost it all, in front of the man who wished to see her go insane? or was she back in that big room full of worms, ingesting her inside and out?
she felt water around her suddenly enter her lungs, filling them up as the girl suddenly begged for air. she struggled, feeling a tight hand wrap around her neck as the smell of bones, rotten flesh, and everything in between entered her nose, the blood soon following.
everything was red.
