Three nights later at a mortuary ran by the Irish...

"So, looks like the shock of the pain caused Primo's heart to explode." The undertaker commented, showing Evangline and the men the remains of Primo's heart that was in an examination tray. "That and the blood lost from his rectum helped to." The undertaker moved away to deal with the rest of the body.

"Now that I look at it, I really don't want to keep such a remainer about." Evangline pouted, hoping that Rake and Leo would not be upset with her. Aoife keeping the heart of her attacker was one thing. Evangline just could not stomach the thought of a part of the fucker that hurt her near her.

"No problem, angel. It will burn with the rest of him." Rake signal for the organ to be dispose of. The cremation chamber was ready to accept the remains into its gullet to make it all into ash and bone fragments. "Father Mallory has a place upstate that will take the ashes. Adds it into fertilizer for gardens and such." Rake kissed her cheek. Leo pulled her close and kissed her forehead. She sighed happily, watching the body of the man who hurt her too many times feed into the machine.

There would be no paper trail or records. This was the place that made problems disappear, never to be heard about again. This was the same place that Pelle's body was taken to be dealt with. The flames in the window of the chamber grew as the greying skin of Primo curled with the muscle, charring the underneath. The sweet smell of cooking flesh filled the air. That was Evangline's cue to leave she was getting sick to her stomach.

Stepping outside, she gasped for fresh air to clear her nasal passages. Rake and Leo rubbed her back. She shivered for the cold of the night was getting into her own bones. Snuggling close to them, they walked to the car.

"Angel." Rake voiced as the car was pulling away from the curb. "You were sick this morning too. After breakfast Maybe we need to go to the doctor to make sure you are not coming down with a cold or the flu." Rake worried, caressing her hand.

"That would be terrible to be sick now." Leo noted, taking her other hand. "Especially since our mothers have planned, I believe the biggest Christmas party to date." Leo kissed her temple.

"I will be okay, and I can't wait to celebrate our First Christmas together." Evangline kissed Leo's cheek and then Rake's. They sat close while the car drove into the night, marking the end of a horrible chapter. And the start of a new one.
