Madeline's pov "Bueno, ella tiene que volver a casa pronto mija" (well she has to come home soon daughter) I sighed deeply at my mom before responding "I know mama! pero no puedo obligarla she's almost 17 I'm sure Luna puede tomar sus propias decisiones!" (But I can't force her, can make her own decisions). My mom stared at me like I had two heads.
"Madeline dile a Luna que debe volver a casa de inmediato!" (tell luna she is to come home at once). I loved my mom I did but she often couldn't see everyone's perspective. I know it's because she's Mexican and in a Mexican household what the parent says goes but after our dad passed away we agreed that I would have Luna. When I went to Romania apparently my mom forced Luna to come stay with her rather than being alone at the apartment and now she's claiming she wants Luna back.
"¿Mama podemos al menos preguntarle a Luna qué quiere? It is her life" (can we at least ask Luna what she wants?) "no, Luna is my daughter not yours and I want her home" I dropped my head in my hands and sighed "mama is this because of Milo?" She didn't respond but I instantly knew it was. "Mama Milo is harmless! He loves me and Lu— "QUIERO A LUNA EN CASA Y ESO ES FINAL!" (I want Luna home and that is final) I stood up and looked down on her.
There was so much I wanted to say to her but I bit my tongue and walked out the house. I've had Luna since she was 12 and I was 17 because we were on stuck in the middle together and just because it made better sense for her to be with me.
When I got in the car Luna immediately looked over at me "what happened?" I could feel myself fighting back tears "she said you have to go back with her Looney" Milo didn't say anything he just looked between Luna and I. "It's gonna be ok Looney, I promise" Luna slumped down into the backseat and even though she didn't say anything I knew she was upset by this. Milo took my hand before driving off.

"It's just so stupid!" I was pacing back and forth ranting to Millie and Macy. "Wait so why is she trying to get Luna back?" I shrugged my shoulders "I have no idea I think it might have something to do with our new stepdad to be honest, it just ain't fair to Luna you know? Like her whole life is me!" Macy stood up and wrapped her arms around me while Millie just watched us from the phone.
"I'm so sorry Maddie" I stayed in Macy's embrace wishing I could reason with my mom. Luna and Milo went on a walk with Louie when Macy showed up. "I'm so sorry Mads but I've gotta go on stage. We can talk more when I get home tomorrow I can't wait to see you guys" I smiled at Millie from Macy's hug "have an amazing last show Millie" she waved at us before ending the FaceTime. "Alright wipe your tears honey we're going to make dinner" I rolled my eyes "can't we just order takeout?"
"I'm definitely down for cooking" I looked towards the door to see Luna and Milo. Luna walked over to me and I hugged her "I promise it's going to be ok Looney. Think of this as a visit I swear you'll be home soon enough" she smiled up at me "I know you'll fix this Maddie" I kissed my little sister's head before the 4 of us went to the kitchen to find something to cook.
