Young Jennie's POV
"Kuma!" I call out to my Pomeranian dog who runs ahead of me on the warmly lighted jog path. He is carrying his leash with him, getting full of himself in this park that is not too far away from the Han river. Isn't he supposed to hand the leash over back to his owner and not run with it?
"Kuma!" I briskly walked, trailing behind him. Thank goodness I'm wearing comfortable slippers, track pants, and an oversized shirt. "I said wait!"
When I checked the time when I arrived here, it was already around eight in the evening. I've been busy with my work lately and haven't had the chance to walk with my little buddy in a while. I guess I can't blame him for being this energetic after involuntarily being put on house arrest.
"Kuma." I called out softer this time. I'm catching up to him since he stopped on the path, looking to the side of the track while waving his tail. "Hey."
I sit to rub his back. "What are you looking at?"
Kuma simply glanced at me, then stared again to where he had been looking before I caught up to him. I followed the direction of his sight and witnessed what my little best friend had been gazing at.
There she is, a woman who looks just about my age, maybe a year or two younger, sitting on the emerald green painted metal bench of this park that is about a few meters away from where I am sitting right now. She is in fitted navy jeans and oversized yellow, plain hoodie.
Bewitched. I gulp and dreamily gaze at her figure.
Wait...
Is she crying?
She is staring at the night sky with her eyelashes that are sparkling like the stars twinkling on the reflection in her eyes or the water of the Han river being hit by the moonlight. I can tell that her face is deprived of any cosmetics, but the light of the street lamp standing right beside where she is sitting is enough to make her look more beautiful in my eyes than anyone else who spent hours in the salon.
"Yeppeo."
The word that came out of my mouth which I only meant to say in my mind was uttered louder than it should be because it caught the girl's attention.
She is now looking at me.
Shi— I quickly cleared my throat while I could feel the intensity of her stare at me. What should I say?!
"Umm— A—"
Kuma suddenly barked twice, cutting me off of my awkward moment. As if he was familiar with the woman, he almost skipped on his steps, running to the girl. I can see the woman's eyes follow my dog as he makes his way to her and stops at the pavement right in front of her.
Kuma barks again, makes two full circles with his body, and then barks again to the girl while his tail is wagging like crazy.
I scoff at the sight. This boy. What a showoff.
Then, my jaw slightly dropped when the girl chuckled at Kuma. With a smile that caught me in awe, she wipes her cheeks and stands up from the bench to pick up my little boy.
She is way prettier when she's smiling.
My heart feels like it is exploding.
Is she a goddess or something?
She ruffles Kuma's hair and kisses his nose. Like someone who is so glad to meet an old acquaintance, she even talks to him comfortably. "Are you doing a nightly walk? You're being a good boy, huh? Who's a good boy? You're a good boy."
