The wedding hall was filled with chaos and confusion. The groom, who had just lifted the veil of his bride, collapsed on the floor with a loud thud.
Rudraksh’s brother and others rushed towards him to help him and with their help, they shifted him to the nearby room and summoned the doctor to examine him.
Samyuktha stands by the bed, watching him, as Rudraksh's family peppers her with questions when the doctor announces that the groom has regained consciousness.
Rudraksh pov
When I opened my eyes, I saw everyone around me with anxious faces. I blinked to get used to the environment and asked for water.
A glass of water appeared before me and a voice said water. I grabbed the glass and gulped it down.
I turned to give back the glass and thank the person, but I saw her instead, my fake bride, who replaced Ruhanika, Ayaansh's sister.
I paled again and her expression changed too. I stood up abruptly and asked,
“What is she doing here? Where is Ruhanika?”
“Ruhanika ran away. So she took her place.”
Ruhanika’s father replied and with that, he handed me a note which Ruhanika left before eloping.
Everything was perfect, the plan was on set then God why it failed?
I again looked at the girl, she was silently standing when her uncle said,
“Now nothing can be done, the marriage is already halfway, you can’t back off now.”
I looked at her, she was silently standing when I walked towards her and asked her,
“Did they force you?”
I waited for a moment for her answer, and she looked behind me then she looked into my eyes and replied,
“NO”
“Fine, we are getting married,”
I said in a cut and clear voice while looking into her eyes.
I could tell from her face that she was coerced, even though she denied it.
We returned to the mandap and Pandit Ji resumed the chants. It was time to apply sindoor.
I took a bit of sindoor and put it in her hair. Some of it dropped on her nose.
And after some more, the wedding was done and now I am officially married.
We were all hungry and exhausted, so we headed to the dining hall and sat down. She was next to me, and I could tell from her gaze that she was starving.
"Brother, feed your wife something sweet, start your married life auspiciously,"
Yug said, making everyone laugh. Ayaansh glared at him, then looked away, muttering something under his breath.
I slowly took a spoonful of ice cream towards her mouth when she whispered,
“I want gulab jamun.”
“What”
“I said I want gulab jamun.”
As I glanced at the gulab jamun before Ayaansh, I heard him mumble something under his breath.
He pushed the bowl of gulab jamun to me with a reluctant gesture.
I picked up a gulab jamun on a separate plate and offered it to her mouth again. This time, she accepted it and everyone clapped. The dinner resumed in silence.
