Samyuktha pov

Trigger warning ‼️

I finally, know who is behind all this misfortune, who has made our life hell. The anger, agony, anxiety, and restlessness I had felt all this time- losing my close people, the person who was responsible for all this is someone I know made me devastated. But I know what I have to do and I will end this.

With steely resolve, I entered the house. Inside, the house felt unnaturally cold and the familiar scent of home was overpowered by a faint and acrid smell I couldn't quite place. I flicked the main light switch. Something was wrong. Deeply, inexplicably wrong. I felt it in my bones, an unsettling weight pressing down my chest. I move forward cautiously, the hairs on the back of my neck standing on end. I looked around the house for suspicious activity but everything appeared clean and untouched.

I could bet on my life on it: something was wrong, I could sense it or someone, I wasn't sure. Suddenly, the lights went out, and the only light came off from the faint moon glow through the windows. This is not a coincidence, danger was looming around me.

Then I heard it, the unmistakable sound of something or someone moving through the house. My mind raced with possibilities, each more terrifying than the last one. I had to stay calm, I needed to get out of here wait wait, Sam, where is he?

"Sam", I called out, my voice tinged with urgency where is he? Is he sleeping?
"Sam", I repeated, louder this time, "See mama is home, Sam"
There it was again, a low growl that seemed to vibrate through the walls and send shivers down the spine.
My heart was pounding violently, each beat reverberating to my ears, as I started to take a step forward, "Sa..."

"Sshh kitten, lower your voice, you might wake him", his deep voice whispered behind me.

I swallowed hard, my heart hammering in my chest. The voice that haunted my dreams was now standing behind me in reality.

"Wh..who are you?"

"Forgotten me already? That makes me sad", he whispered,

my shallow breathing and trembling hands were of no use; they wouldn't stop shaking, and the possibility of reliving those cruel moments would shatter me,

"Where is Sam?", I somehow asked
He chuckles darkly. Though I can't see him yet I can imagine a sinister smirk spreading across his face. I went numb when his palm snaked my neck slowly,

"Worry about yourself, kitten, who will save you, huh?", his words send a chill down my spine.

"Le..Leave me, you bastard", I yelled, swinging a punch at him. But he effortlessly trapped me against the wall, with my face pressed against the cold surface, unable to see him.

"These punches are useless, you know, just like you" and he started laughing like a maniac.

"Oh my kitten, you're doomed",

he whispered and with that, he injected something into my neck and I began to lose consciousness. No, no, my limbs were going numb, my ability to move came to a halt and knowing his capacity, I realised no one could save me now.

When I regained consciousness, he was there, looming over me, relentlessly asking me those questions, why did I betray him? Why did I leave him? Why did I choose someone else over him? But I had no energy left, I could not even lift a finger so I could touch him, tell him.

His eyes are hollowed, he won't believe me. He was shouting like a maniac, destroying everything around him table, chairs, pots, lamps and windows, he grabbed a broken piece of glass and plunged it into my right chest once then twice then thrice and then again and again. I should have died immediately but somehow there was some life still left.
