Adaa POV
The moment his eyes met mine I felt that tingling feeling. I moment I saw him in the morning I couldn't take my eyes off him. He looked divine and 100% my type with that off-white kurta and messy hair. Men in traditional 💞.
I went to the mandap(stage) and stood beside my mom. Leela and Ram stood for phere (the ritual of walking the Hindu bride and bridegroom around a sacred fire). In this ritual, the couple do 7 rounds taking vows to each other and promising to keep them till their last breath.
This feels so special, bonding with someone spiritually. After completing the 7 rounds it's time to show Arundathi. Arundathi is a star married to the Chandra(moon) and never leaves his side. even when there are no stars around it is always present. Ram shows Leela the Arundathi and asks her to stay with him the way Arundathi stays with Chandra(moon).
After all the rituals it's finally Vidayi. In time Leela went to her mother engulfing her in a tight hug and crying. Then she went to her Father. her crying increased as her father hugged her. I turned to my dad and asked " Nana kanyadaan means donating your daughter? How can our elders be so cruel? why do girls have to leave? will you also donate me?"
"No kanyadaan means giving the Laxmi of our house to them for their well-being and the growth of their family. Sending our daughter to the Vishu believing that he will take care of her and her well-being. just like how Laxmi takes care of him and his family. It's a diving event never call it a donation and consider yourself a thing. And for your question, I would love to see you happy with your Vishu." He said patting my head.
