Adaa POV
I wish to be swallowed by Mother Earth if she could.
"She is your cousin, as in sister?", I got down the kitchen counter and walked towards him. His cheeks are red with embarrassment.
"Yes", he nods still holding his laugh. Why the hell is he laughing?
"But you said you were her first crush", a confused expression laced my face.
"Actually we met in 2nd year of college but my cousin, aunt's son got married to her sister. so technically we both are brother and sister.", he looked at me, taking me into a hug and I nuzzled into his warmth.I don't wish to face her, but I have to.
"Let's go", he dragged both of us out to living.
"I will meet you another time. Bye", She left the moment we entered. We burst into laughter the next second she left.
"That was embarrassing", he said and we laughed again. We continued to laugh till our stomachs hurt, tears brimming from our eyes.-x-
"Ok, amma. I will..... ha.... Bye." I signed and let my body fall into the comfort of my chair. Coming out of it I started to resume what I was doing.
"Vishu, Vishu. Where are you", I started searching but he was nowhere to be found, Unknowingly this had become a habit. Search for him as soon as you reach home, just like I used to search for my mom whenever I returned from school.
"here", I followed his voice and ended up on the balcony.
"What are you doing with my plants?", he was touching my jade when I entered.
"it's ours, our plants. And I was just checking the leaves they felt a little dry", he pulled me to him with an arm wrapped around my waist."Ok, I'll look at them, but first, I have to tell you something." I walked along with him to the papasan chair placed in the middle of the balcony. He hummed and I continued
"Mom asked me to come home.", I sat on his lap and stared at his face, No reaction.
"Why", it was not out of disappointment nor anger, it was just sad, that I would be leaving him for days."You know engagement is near right it's just 10 days away. So they want us to maintain some distance, they also need my help right", I pinched his cheeks and kissed his pout. This is what attracts me to him, he is not afraid of showing his childish side to me, no 'I am a man I won't cry' type of person. After a quick nod, he continued
"When will you go, you will come right after the completion of the ceremony. right", his grip tightened on my waist and my fingers combed his hair, feeling his soft waves."Maybe next but one day. And Yes, I will right after. And we can even meet for dinner at your mother's house." I completed and just got a hmm in return. Not wanting to talk about it much we both enjoyed the sunset silently. The Sun's golden-orange rays slowly fade away and let the moon's silver-white take over. The warmth of the sun leaves a calm coldness of the moon. Leisurely the darkness took over the sky but we still sat there in each other's arms.
"Come let's make something to eat. Today I will make dinner, you help me", I grab his hand and drag him along with me.
"What will you make? and what should I help you with?", he asked washing his hands.
"I will make your favorite egg biryani, and you have to sit over there talking with me. That is your help for today. what say?", I wiggled my eyebrows smiling broadly with my hands on the side of my waist.
"how me talking is a help?" He sat on the counter as I said.
"Because just hearing your voice is enough for me.", I turned to the cupboard.
"You are flirting with me now?", he chuckled and that sound was enough for me to laugh.
"just stating the facts Mr. Vishrut.", I grabbed the needed ingredients."How about I play some songs", I know he was blushing, and trying to divert.
"Ok, grab my mobile and play the album 3 AM", that's a list of romantic, to be precise they are songs full of needy words. He connected to the Bluetooth speaker and kept it on the dining table. For him bringing any electric gadgets to the kitchen is not allowed. The first few songs were nice because I kept them to make my playlist look normal.
By the end of the 4th song, my biryani was completed. Rather than taking it to the dining table, I served it on one plate and sat beside him on the counter.
