Vishrut POV
"You often realize the true value of loved ones in their absence", is what I hear often and I felt it too when she left me. Now I realize how I and Adaa are different from me and Piya. Piya was my first love, no doubt she is special, the moment we shared, and the love we had for each other will always have a special place in my heart. But no matter how much I deny she was my Love, my past, the turned pages of my book, a completed chapter that still, has her essence lingering on the pages, a positive essence that often makes me realize the mistakes I have done and mistakes I shouldn't do. Just the way she helped me realize my feelings.
"You sure you want to come to the engagement?", My mom asked for the umpteenth time.
"I ok maa", I hugged her. We are currently on our way to get in the car, and as usual, my dad is late. They say women take more time to get ready but my dad always beat my mom to it.I felt like someone choking me with their bare hands, whispering 'You deserve this' on a loop, I couldn't breathe, the minimum oxygen left in my body leaving me whenever I saw the scene in front of me. Now I understand how it feels when the person you love is getting engaged with someone but you can't do anything but feel seeing them.
did she really move on?
Does she like him?
Is she happy?
Does she remember me?
I thought she smiled remembering our memories, like I do
I thought she was hugging the pillow thinking it was me, like I do
I thought also imagine our future, like I do
I thought I was also the first and last thought of her, like she is mineBut I guess not,
Before I let my thoughts consume me her eyes met mine, And that one second was enough for me to know she did feel all I was feeling, she still felt the same. I didn't even try to understand her expression, her eyes were enough, they were spilling all the emotions that her face and voice couldn't.
The pain of
being separated
missing each other
losing the
feel of touch
feel of warmth
feel of being with each other.I need to talk to her, I know she won't accept if I ask for a second chance, but I have to prove myself worthy of her trust, and love.
It's her right to be angry and my duty to persuade her.
After talking with her, one thing is clear for me. whether she loves me or not her wounds are still fresh, it's my responsibility to heal her, and let her know how much she means to me, and how much I love her. I am not going to let her go this time.
Today they are going for wedding shopping, as there's only a week left before the wedding. And I am here watching them both as they talk, smile, and laugh. Why is she laughing so much with him, is he that funny or is she doing it just to get a reaction out of me, because whatever it is, it's working. why is she touching his biceps, and why is he touching her fingers, Is it necessary to touch while talking? can't they keep their hand for themselves?
I was standing in the back leaning on a pillar of a shopping mall, folding my hands and clutching my biceps so that I stop myself from bursting out. "Vishrut", Vikram came to me. "Yeah?", I stood properly anticipating him to start something, as he is the one who called me here with them shopping.
"How are you feeling?", He stood before me folding his hands. He wore a pure pitch black button-down shirt paired up with black trousers which was quite opposite to my pure snow white button-down shirt paired with denim. We both have our sleeves folded and smile on our faces but it's just that mine's fake but not his."How do you expect me to be?" My eyes took a quick look at Adaa who was still on call.
"Well not really good then, But do you know why I called you here?", he has that mystery smile on his lips. He is for sure a mystery man, the way he behaves screams danger, why can't anyone notice this?
"I don't mind any reason as long as I get to see her", I sign with my eyebrow to the place where Adaa sat.
"We are on the same page, bro. I am not your enemy. I called you so that you can persuade her then you stand here and shoot daggers at me with your eyes.", My head snapped to him with a shocked expression."You know? and you are not jealous? I thought you were a possessive kind of lover", I said going back to my original self.
"Lover? No, we are just friends, do you think she will love anyone other than you, I have seen her for a year, how much she misses you, how much she thinks about you. In the whole year, there wasn't a minute she didn't think about you. It's always been you, and it's always going to be you. But if you want her, you earn her, and trust me it's not going to be easy, she will give you a very hard time because she just wants to save herself from another heartbreak." I nod grasping his words. She has been through a lot because of me, and I have also been through a lot too. But now it's time to end all the alone suffering. Now whatever we suffer we suffer together, whatever we have to go through we will go together, we fight, we shout, and we stay together."Vikram", Adaa stood beside him.
"We will continue", we shook our hands and he left with her. But my eyes stuck on her, she didn't even look at me. Here I am once again mesmerized by her beauty, the way the saree clings on to her, making her look ethereal, her hair made into a brade, baby hair falling on her face, kajal on her almond eyes, innocence in her honey eyes, plump soft rosy lips. How much I miss watching her closely. cute baby-like face when she sleeps, the way her eyes widen when she has done something wrong, the way her eyes smile when she is really, the way she smiles when she eats something she likes. They were busy trying to select, so I went to the men's section taking a golden white kurta and Pancha (a cloth that is wrapped around a man's waist during their wedding as the bottom to the kurta). Then I went back to them and at last, she selected a saree.
I moved behind her taking the saree which is next to the one she picked when I saw her going toward the trial room.
"Wait" I kept my feet before closing the door.
"W....what? who allowed you?", she did not push me out closing the door in my face, so I went inside. I took a study step towards her to cage her between me and the mirror.
"White is always your color, but now go with this golden one", I removed the saree from her right hand and continued "Try this, this looks best.", I said slowly sliding the saree in a golden white color with a red border into her hands and a little step back to let her breathe. As if the little distance made her trance break she went back to her grumpy self. The moment I was near her, her face was like a selenophile looking at the moon."I don't need your advice. Why should I listen to you, I am not even your br--", Before could complete the Bride I pulled her to me. A gasp left her mouth when her breast met my chest, and could see her intoxicated by me, the way I was being by her.
"I would love to see you walking down the aisle, With the Saree, the shine of your eyes overpowering the jewels, your smile brighter than the lights. Only happiness, peace. You and I unite with the holy prayers and chants of the priest along with the blessings of our beloved people. And we are announced as a wife and husband. Then I will take the kajal with my finger and keep it behind your ear, kiss your ear, and whisper 'I love you, Adaa. My Wife. For this and every life'. I will proudly kiss your forehead and silently express my love in the loudest way possible."
