- Becky's POV -
Before heading back home, I dropped by the flower shop to check on it. I'll be leaving this shop for a while, I don't know for how long. I already hired a shop manager who's going to report to me from time to time during my stay in Switzerland.
As I entered the shop, my eyes drifted to the flowers carefully placed in the water bucket. I remembered when I first encountered Freen's abilities when I accidentally caught her watering the flowers using the water coming out from her hands. At that time, I didn't got scared but was shocked. The thing is, I thought that she was not the Freen that I know and was a different person who looks exactly like her because I never saw her like that before. I mean, the Freen that I know was "human" and not a water demigod. But then everything about her tells me that she's my Freen, except for that part..
She, herself don't know where she got those abilities. But it didn't made me love her less, instead, I fell harder.. If there's any way you can describe it. My love for her just got deeper and deeper and there's no way I could climb my way back. Nevertheless, I don't want to climb up..
I made my way towards the back room where Freen and I used to spend the night when we have lots of orders. My feet hit the side of the couch and I slowly lowered myself and sat on the floor as my hand brushes the fabric of the couch to where Freen used to sleep on.
"I'll miss you forever. I hope you know that.." I silently muttered as I closed my eyes and heaved a sigh.
"I have to go now. Tonight will be the last night that I will sleep on our bed. After that, it's gonna take some time before I come back, love. I'm not going to forget you, I just need to find myself even just for a bit." I continued talking as if Freen is beside me, listening.
My hand slowly traces the blue pendant on my chest like its already a muscle memory.
I hope you're okay wherever you are..
I stood up and was about to leave when my necklace sparkled. I was stunned and looked at it, but then I realized that the light from the small window had struck to it.
*sigh*
As I walked back to the front, I noticed from the corner of my eye something familiar that was hanging on my office chair..
Freen's hoodie when we first saw each other after a couple years.
How did it ended up here?
Maybe I took this out from where I'm keeping it when I stayed in here when I got drunk a couple of weeks ago. I must have cried a lot and oblivious that I took this out and cried my heart out again. Then forgot everything the next day..
Instead of keeping it, I took it with me and closed the shop.
With the hoodie tucked in my arm, I made my way towards to where Freen's yellow corv was parked. It was a cold night and yet my body feels numb..
Before I opened the car door, my eyes drifted to the night sky and saw the beautiful full moon.
As I stood there in the empty open parking lot, taking in the scene before me, I felt a sense of calmness settled over me. In that moment, despite being alone, just by looking at the moon, everything felt right in the world, like she's with me, if only for a moment.
And little by little, the clouds enveloped the ethereal moon that left the entire night sky with the presence of the stars. I knew that even when the moon had disappeared, this memory would stay with me forever.
