Chapter 48 - Afterglow

- Becky's POV -

"FREEEEEEEEN!!!"

My heart was pounding like it was about to burst and sweats are dripping down from my head and neck.

Shit! Another nightmare. I cursed as I woke up again in the middle of the night clutching my chest as my other hand grabbed the sheets on my side.

Empty.

Well, worse than a nightmare.

It's been two long months and the nightmare of losing Freen keeps on hunting me especially in my dreams.

I curled myself into a ball as I stared at the empty side of the bed to where Freen used to lie down.

I miss you baby.

It's never been the same since you were gone.

If this go on, I think I might lose my sanity soon.

I know Freen doesn't want me to be like this.

She said it, in her letter..

"I want you to live your life in there Becky, go to places where you wanted to go, do the things you love and enjoy your life to the fullest. Go as far as you can, even if it means spending all of our money on all of your travels. I don't mind.."

She told me to enjoy to move on..

To start something new..

I have to do something..

But how can I be fine when the person to whom your world revolves around is gone?

Two months later..

"Are you really sure about this Becky?" Nam asked me as we all sat and eat in a round table at a restaurant a few minutes from Freen and I's flat.

Nam, Cali, Charlotte and Engfa went to see me before I leave Thailand..

"Yeah, Freen wants me to go.. I think I need it too." I replied as I gave them a soft smile.

"It will all be okay.. I hope you find something that can make you happy again. Don't forget that we're always here for you." Nam said as she took my hand and gently squeezed it and I just nodded.

One more night before I leave and I asked them all if we can meet up and it surprised me that Cali, despite her busy schedule was able to find time and join us.

"So you're all set? When are you leaving?" Charlotte asked as she sipped from her wine glass.

"I already packed my luggage, my flight will be tomorrow night. Thank you all for agreeing to meet me in a such a short notice. I really appreciate it." I said and stood up from my chair as I hug each and everyone of them.

"Just text or call us if you need anything, okay? You take care in there Becky." Nam said as she squeezed me tighter.

"Hmm.." I hummed in response and gave them a light smile.

"Hey.."

I heard Cali's voice as I was about to enter Freen's yellow corvette, I turned my back to look at her walking towards me.

"Cal."

"You take care when you leave.." She said as she look at me in the eyes.

"I will. You too.. You're meeting your family, right?" I asked her.
