So Close Yet So Far (ON HOLD)

Chapter 29

We both head out from his office and now heading to the parking lot.

Hindi na ako nakabalik sa trabaho ko because it's already late and malapit na din out ko, so I decided na maghintay nalang na matapos si Hugo para sabay na kami at hindi na niya ako kailangan sunduin pa sa opisina.

He has an important meeting with his dad, pero hindi naman ito nagtagal kaya naman hindi ako nainip sa kakahintay.

But one thing for sure he missed his meeting with Gwendolyn. Hindi ko mapigilan na maging galak dahil rito.

As we head out of the elevator that is directed to the parking lot, naramdaman ko ang mga kamay nito sa aking bewang.

He guided me on the way to his car.

As day passed by, we have gotten used to this kind of lifestyle. Him dropping me off to work and then picking me up after his work.

We are about to enter our house pero napatingin ako sa kanya dahil tumunog ang cellphone nito hudyat na meron itong natanggap na mensahe.

As I look at his expression as he read the message. I couldn't pinpoint what he is thinking about.

But there is just something about his eyes after he read the message that I couldn't help but to notice.

Napatingin ito sa akin at nagtagpo ang mga mata namin.

"Mauna kana, I have something important to attend to." Sabi niya at mabilis na tinalikuran ako at naglakad pabalik sa kotse nito.

Mabilis nitong pinaharurot ang sasakyan nito at naiwan akong nakatingin sa papalayo nitong sasakyan.

It must be really important.

Kalaunan ay agad akong pumasok sa loob ng bahay dahil lumalamig narin ang simoy ng hangin.

With his busy schedule alam kong may mga hindi inaasahan na kakailanganin ang presensya niya kaya sanay na ako rito dahil lumaki akong bigla nalang din nawawala si papa dahil sa trabaho nito.

I decided to wait for him to come home kase alam kong hindi din naman ito magtatagal since it's probably just a meeting or something came up with their projects.

Bumaba ako sala namin upang doon nalang maghintay.

I turned on the tv para narin hindi ako ma bored sa paghihintay. I was so immersed with the movie that I was watching that when I checked the clock, it's already 11 Pm.

I checked my phone if I received any messages from Hugo pero wala.

Almost 7 Pm kami nakarating sa bahay, his been gone for hours. Nag-aalala ako dahil baka may malaking problema ito sa trabaho nila.

I decided to text him.

'Is everything alright?'

I texted because this is very unusual of him. He usually informs me when he is coming home late.

I waited a few more minutes pero I still didn't get any response.

I checked the time again and it's already past 12 midnight.

Hindi ako mapalagay kaya naman I decided to call him. I heard a ring but after awhile the call ended, I tried calling again pero pareho lang din dahil puro lang ito ring and again it ended.

After four missed calls. I decided na umakyat nalang sa kwarto at doon maghintay.

'Why aren't you answering your phone? Are you alright?' I texted again.

I left a couple of text messages pero wala parin akong natatanggap na mensahe.

I could feel my eyes burning. Naiiyak ako dahil nag aalala ako kay Hugo.
