Impossible Lovers

The End.

Jungkook barely slept that night, checking on Sijie's condition every two hours.  Sijie didn't sweat during the night, so Jungkook wiped his face with a towel.  Sijie, feeling drowsy from the medicine, even called out "Mommy" in his sleep.

Jungkook: "..."

Though people often say that couples look alike, it's not to this extent, right?

After daybreak, when  Sijie woke up on his own and saw his father was still sitting by the bedside. He slept lightly, waking up at the slightest sound. When he saw  Sijie looking at him with his eyes open, Jungkook reached out to test his forehead's temperature, "Looks like the fever has gone down."

He used the thermometer placed at the bedside and confirmed that the fever was indeed gone.

"When you wake up, wash up a bit, and we'll have breakfast later before going back to sleep."

"Okay..."  Sijie got up from the bed himself, his hair disheveled, and went to wash up. Jungkook went to the next room to call  Simin to wake up but found that she was already awake and watering the plants.

...His six-year-old little daughter indeed had a strong sense of self-discipline.

"Dad, is big brother better now?" Seeing Jungkook come out,  Simin put down the small watering can and ran to him. Jungkook bent his head and said, "Big brother's fever has gone down; he's fine now."

"That's great. I'll go check on big brother."

"Okay," Jungkook nodded and went back to his room to wash up a bit before heading to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.

Considering that  Sijie had just recovered from his illness, he cooked a pot of plain congee and prepared light side dishes. Both he and Lisa liked spicy food, the same was true for  Sijie and  Simin. Seeing the light breakfast on the table, Sijie began to voice his opinion to his father, "Isn't there still some of the pickled vegetables Grandma made? It's so delicious in cold dishes."

"Big brother, you just recovered; you should eat something light,"  Simin reminded him while sitting next to him.

Jungkook said, "Your sister is more sensible than you."

Sijie pouted, picked up a spoonful of porridge, and asked, "When Mommy comes back, can we go out for a big meal tomorrow?"

"That depends on how well you recover."

Sijie immediately sat up straight, "I feel much better now."

"Oh, then finish your meal, and then let's finish your homework so that we can go out and play tomorrow."

Sijie: "..."

At the mention of homework, he seems to have a bit of a headache.

After finishing breakfast,  Sijie took his medicine under Jungkook's watchful eyes and then went back to his room for a short nap. Lisa arrived in the afternoon; her assistant directly took her from the airport to the Golden Jade Mansion community.

Jungkook originally wanted to pick her up, but  Sijie suddenly fell ill, so he was worried and forgot about it.

Lisa and her assistant returned with three large suitcases. As soon as they entered the house, Duoduo came meowing to greet them. The assistant dragged the suitcases and glanced at the cat by her feet, "Your cat can even welcome guests, like a dog, right?"

"Meow!" Duoduo meowed again at Lisa's feet. Lisa had no choice but to put down the suitcases, squat down, and pet him.

"Mommy is back!"  Sijie and Simin also ran over, each hugging one of Lisa's legs. Lisa  also patted their heads and said, "Mommy brought you lots of gifts; they're all in that suitcase. Go and check them out."
