Extra Chapter -14

Lisa and Jungkook originally had no plans to have a second child, but after  Sijie brought it up today, Lisa's desire for another child began to resurface.

After putting  Sijie to sleep, Jungkook returned and found L8sa looking at him with bright eyes.

He hesitated for a moment, then walked towards the bed and asked, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing, I just... want..."

"You want to have another child?"

Lisa blinked her eyes twice and replied, "Aren't you also considering it?"

Jungkook didn't say anything. He did want another child, but he didn't want Lisa to go through the pain of childbirth again. Originally, they had agreed on having only one child, but now with  Congcong's request, it was not surprising that Lisa started to gave thoughts about it.

Sitting down beside Lisa, Jungkook looked at her and said, "Although we may want another child, neither of us can guarantee that the second child will be a girl."

"......" Indeed, that was true, but stating the facts like that was disheartening, "Isn't the chance of having a boy or girl fifty-fifty? We already have a son, so shouldn't the probability of the second child being a girl be higher?"

Jungkook chuckled, "That's a high school knowledge point. Do you want me to review it for you?"

Lisa turned away, stubbornly saying, "I don't care. I have a feeling that this time it will be a girl!"

Jungkook raised his hand to pat her head and smiled gently, "You and Congcong are not much different, both so naive. But if we really decide to have a second child, you must think it through. If the second child is still a boy, can you accept it?"

Lisa originally wanted to argue against his pessimism, but she couldn't deny the possibility. If it happened, could she handle the emotional letdown? If she couldn't, then perhaps they shouldn't have decided to have another child in the first place?

After pondering for a while, she finally sighed, "If it really is another boy, then I can only accept it."

Jungkook nodded, "Good, you're being mature about it. But if you find it difficult to accept, what about Congcong? Can he accept the fact that it's a brother and not a sister? If he doesn't like having a brother and wants a sister, what will you do then?"

Lisa: "......"

Why did Jungkook have to be so rational! Why did he have to shatter the fantasy of having a daughter!

After a long silence, she finally tentatively asked, "Are there any folk remedies to guarantee not having a boy?"

Jungkook: "......"

"Believe in science, don't resort to superstitious beliefs," Jungkook gently tapped her forehead, "This issue needs to be clarified with Congcong first. If he can't accept a brother, then it's best to reconsider having a second child."

Lisa nodded despondently, "I understand. Tomorrow, I will have a nice talk with him."

Though  Sijie may not seem very intelligent, he is obedient. She believes that as long as she talks to him sincerely, he will understand.

"Alright, since you've decided, don't worry about it anymore," Jungkook leaned over and kissed her forehead, "Get some rest now. Tomorrow morning, Congcong will wake up early and come looking for his mommy again."

"Okay," Lisa replied, pulling up the blanket and waiting for Jungkook to turn off the lights.

In the darkness, Lisa murmured, "How about we find a fortune teller to check if it's in my fate to have a daughter?"
