Hello, Air Temple Island.

I wish I could say long time no see, yet it's only been a few weeks. And in that short amount of time my life has fallen apart over and over again.

"Kazuko?"

"Korra." I greet the Avatar without turning myself to face her.

"What are you doing back here?" She says with confusion and I can tell that Bolin has told her of our last encounter.

"I can't just come here for a visit?" I say, my back still turned to her. She grabs my shoulder and turns me around, "What happened, Kazuko?"

"What happened? I don't think that's any of your business, Korra." I quip. She looks at me with an unreadable expression, "Why are you back here?"

"Is Tenzin home?" I divert Korra's question.

"I asked you first."

Instead of answering her question I turn on my heel and stride off in the direction of Tenzin's house while Korra calls my name into my back.

A second member of Team Avatar catches me before I reach Tenzin's office, "Kazuko, is that you?" Asami pokes her head out of the dining room doorway.

"And what if I say no?" I cast a glance at her over my shoulder.

"Why are you here?"

"Ugh!" I groan, "Is every single one of you going to ask me that question?"

"I-"

"Gotta see Tenzin. No time to talk, Asami." I cut her off before she can ask any further questions.

I rap my fist against Tenzin's office door.

'Bang! Bang! Bang!' I knock until he opens the door, "Been doing some weird airbender magic lately, Tenzin?"

"Come in." Tenzin says coldly, moving out of the way for me to enter the room. I slip in and drop my bag on the floor before sliding into the chair in front of his large desk. Tenzin takes his time walking around his desk and into his chair almost as though he has to think over everything he needs to say to me.

"I'm not here for redemption." I cross my arms over my lap, "I'm here because I can airbend. So, I thought, there's no better place to find out why I can suddenly bend a different element, than Air Temple Island."

What I said clearly broke Tenzin's focus as his eyes widen, "That's not possible. If this is your idea of a joke-"

"I wish I was joking, Tenzin."

"Show me."

I exhale deeply, "I can't. Ever since the day I first did it, I've been unable to replicate it. I can't produce enough wind to move a piece of paper."

"Kazuko, this is a very serious matter. If you are jo-"

I stand and slam my hands on his desk, "I wouldn't be here if it wasn't serious!" I yell, "I don't want to be here either!"

"There must be other reasons for your return. As princess of the Fire Nation, you were trained in all forms of bending. I'm sure you do not need my assistance." Tenzin looks over me with a cold gaze.

"There's a big difference between practicing techniques and actually bending. As a teacher, you should know that, Tenzin." I sit back down.

"Do you need money? A warm place to stay? Is that the real reason you are here?"

"Just say it, Tenzin. I look like crap, I know." I snap, "But that doesn't mean I'm lying about being an airbender."

"Have you been eating enough?"
