THIRD PERSON'S POV
Now in the early month of September, seated in her vanity chair, Willa had just finished her makeup.
The purple and a blend of gold shades were flawless and complimented her features perfectly. Meanwhile, Rio swiftly pulled out another bobby pin from her grasp and hit the wolf's forehead. "Stay still!" River muttered with the bobby pin in her mouth. "Ow!" Willa rubbed her forehead and glared at her girlfriend through the mirror.
"I can do my own hair!".
"No. I wanna do it" River smiled. "What time is it?" She asked. Willa grabs her phone off the desk and taps on the screen. Willa grinned at her Lock Screen and studied the picture that was taken before their summer break had ended.

"Willa!" River said. "Yeah?" Willa turned her head and looked at River. "The time?" Rio questions. "Oh, right!" Willa chuckled. She rechecked the time and placed the phone down. "Seven O'three" The wolf says.
"Great!" Rio chimed.
She adjusted Willa's head to look forward and thought of ways to style the werewolf's hair. Willa yawned and licked her lips with low eyes. "Wolfe?" Rio questions. Willa responded with a hum and raised both of her eyebrows. "Did you sleep last night? You look exhausted".
"Kind of" Willa admitted. "Bae" River placed both hands on her girlfriend's shoulders. "Rio" Willa says in the same tone as River did. She noticed the concerned look on the girl's face and rolled her eyes. "It was a dumb nightmare again. Don't worry about it" Willa twisted her lips to the side and furrowed her brows.
"Again? What was it about?" Rio asked.
Willa simply dismissed the question with a head shake and grabbed her phone.
"Well, was it good or bad?" Rio questioned, softly as she grabbed pieces of Willa's front hair to pin it to the back.
"Doesn't matter" Willa says. "Do you think it meant something?" The Barbadian girl notices how Willa's body tensed up and it only makes her more worried. "River." Willa gave her a pleading look to stop with her questions. River nodded and returned to styling the wolf's hair. "Okay, meanie" Rio muttered.
"Done!".
Willa looked up, studying the pent-up style made by her girlfriend. River rested her chin on Willa's shoulder and looked at her through the mirror. "Whatcha think?" River asked with hope. "It's perfect" Willa replied with a warm smile. River takes a step back as Willa spins around in the chair. She leaves it and goes to grab her bag on the side of her bed.
After that, Willa locked her eyes on River as she was across the room by her bedroom door. They shared a gaze that lingered with unspoken words. "What?" Willa asked, breaking the silence as she made her way over Rio. "What?" River echoed, as her eyes lingered from Willa's to her purple lips. River cleared her throat and opened the door.
"Let's go before we're late for the rally!" River directed, tugging at the strap of her book bag, and motioned her girlfriend to join her. "That's tonight, Riv. Would you relax? It's not like we're gonna miss anything" Willa sassed, stopping Rio from leaving her room. She removed River's grip from the golden doorknob, shuts the door, and intertwined their hands.
"Willa, we're gonna be late for school".
"We would be on time if you hadn't insisted on doing my hair, Ms. Wannabe hairstylist".
"You said you didn't care" River said. Willa press her lips together and tilted her head. "Did I? Or did you assume that I did?" She then raised a brow with a smirk. River pouts and bats her lashes. Willa rolled her eyes and scoffs. "Stop pouting and come here" Willa says as she closes the small distance between them.
"We should—".
"Kiss? Yeah, I know".
With that, Willa placed her right hand on the back of Rio's head and pushed their lips against each other. As they ease into the soft kiss, River's back is shortly pressed against the wall by Willa's body weight. Breaking the kiss, breathing for air, and pulling each other closer — the couple retrieve the friction of their lips being on one another.
Willa's hand left Rio's head and slid down her back, the wolf's touch becoming bolder as it found its place on her girlfriend's backside.
Their closeness only seemed to grow as they melted into each other's touch.
"Willa... come on" River breathes heavily and pats her girlfriend's chest.
"Now, we can go" Willa says after she slowly pulls away from the brief kiss that they shared. With a soft smile and a fond gaze, Willa signaled River to go first, allowing her to lead the way out of the room. Hand in hand, the couple left the pack house and was ready to face whatever the day had in store. They knew that as long as they were together, they could handle anything that came their way this year.
