THIRD PERSON'S POV
After Lunch and walking the halls a bit with A-Li, River found herself going through the rest of the school day in a breeze.
Before she knew it, it was time to set up what she could with Lilith's help for her sleepover.
River was informed by Addison that Wynter had blabbed and invited her and A-Zara. River didn't mind though. The more the merrier after all. And, even though unprepared, River actually found herself getting excited for this and so did the others. "Don't you think we went overboard with the snacks?" Lilith asked as she walked into the house with another load of grocery bags in hand. "Knowing Wynter? No" River chuckled from the kitchen.
"Those wolves certainly have a big appetite" She says, chewing on her bag of potato chips.
Lilly hummed and walks into the kitchen and leaned against the island. "Speaking of wolves.... What's going on with you and yours?" The dark brown girl with her messy bun asked. She takes the yellow bag out of River's hand and raised a brow. "What do you mean?" River ask knowing full well what she meant. "You can't seriously expect me not to notice? Or anyone else for that matter" Lilly says. "Things are good" River lied before she sneezed.
"You haven't been around each other like that for a full month. You've been canceling plans and, not against it, third wheeling with us".
"Lil, it's fine" River said. Lilly tilted her head and gave a look, still not believing her. "I legit heard you guys arguing in the janitors closet across the hall a few days ago" Lilith commented. "Lilly" River says, breathing out. "Seriously, if she's hurting you—" Lilly started to say before Rio's yell came out and made her jump. "Lilith!".
Lilly eyed her up and down before rolled her eyes and looked away. River patted the palm of her hand on her head, meeting the itching spot buried in her Bobby pins and hair. "Willa and I are good. She's just spooked by about the aliens appearance and dealing with college stuff. She told me herself." River said. It sounded rehearsed in Lilith's opinion. Meaning that River had been telling herself that same thing over and over again. "Yeah? And do you actually believe that?" The best friend questioned with crossed arms.
"I have no reason to not trust my girlfriend with her word, Lilly. So you can stop with the interrogation" River said harshly.
"I... I wasn't—" Lilly stammered before a knock on the door was heard.
"Can you just go get the door? Please?" River asked, walking deeper into the kitchen near the trashcan. Lilly sighed, doing as told, walking through the living room to get the door. Looking through the peephole and twisting the doorknob, Lilly pulled the door towards her and looked up. "Speak of the devil" Lilly scoffed and walked away from the door with a slight attitude. "Hello to you, too, Lilith" Willa chuckled. "Mmm-hmm" Lilly hummed with suspicion as she sat on the couch.
