THIRD PERSON'S POV

After a long ten minutes, Willa was finally able to get upstairs and head inside River's bedroom.

She placed the glass in between the inside of her arm and twisted the doorknob open. She had grabbed the glass again and walked inside the room, closing the door with her feet. Willa took a deep breath after taking in the sight of her girlfriend, lying on her side and scrolling up on her phone. "...Hey!" Willa said, trying to sound upbeat. She walked over to her empty side of the bed, in River's view and sat the glasses of orange juice on her nightstand.

"Uh, the girls are gone. They left a while ago" Willa told her as she sat on the bed with the warm plate and napkins underneath.

"I kind of told them you were feeling good so they wouldn't questioned or come and bug you" She laughed to herself, feeling awkward in the silence. Willa forcibly smiled again and showed off the plate of breakfast to the quiet girl lying beside her. "I made you breakfast, 'figured you were hungry" she said softly with genuine concern for her girlfriend's hunger. "I would've came up earlier but... I don't know. I got caught up with helping the girls and cleaning up" River looks at the plate then over to Willa, making the girl feel hopeful.

Though River just rolls her eyes and turns to the other side of the bed.

Willa tooted up her lips with a head nod, accepting the action. "That's fair." She muttered. "Can you just eat something off of the plate?" Willa asked.  She patiently waited for a response—a movement—but it never came. Willa licked her lips and lowered the white plate on the bed. She then realized it wasn't the best place to put it so she moved it and set it on the nightstand. "You know how much I hate it when we argue" Willa says as she grabs a piece of bacon off the plate and leaned against the headboard.

"So I don't want to keep doing it" she added.

"And last night... It was fucked up on my end, I know." "

"I don't want it to be like that—this anymore." She waited for a reaction.

When none came, frustration slowly came in. Willa had slowly chewed more of her bacon and swallowed. She breathed through her nose, her jaw easing from a tight clench and glancing over at her girlfriend who was watching reels. "I'm trying, Riv" Willa said, turning her body toward Rio. River lowered her phone, finally. She rolled on her back and side eyed Willa before she looked up at the ceiling.

"Trying? Is that what you're calling it?" she says in a tone that Willa couldn't exactly pinpoint for what it could have been.
Annoyance? Tiredness? Willa shifted, her forearm resting on Rio's pillow as she placed her weight on her arm. "Trying to control who I talk to? Trying to make everything about how you feel instead of us?".

"That's not what I meant.".

"But that's what this is," River cut in, sitting up now, the blanket falling from her upper body.
