THIRD PERSON'S POV
"Don't tell me that you're actually mad at me" Willa Lykensen questions.
She and River were finally back home from school and River hadn't said a word to her since they drove off school grounds. And that made Willa feel queasy. "Find! I won't tell." River stated as she stormed upstairs to her room. "Baby..." Willa sighed as she watched her girlfriend turn into the hallway. The werewolf shuts the door behind her and locks it, ignoring the painful stinging she felt when doing so as the handle and top lock were still silver. "Hi guys" Willa acknowledged Karma and Dahlia as they were in the living room and kitchen.
"Hey" Karma slightly twisted her lips to the side after the frustration on Willa's face. "Are you gonna go and check on her?" The young girl with shoulder-length, naturally curly, dark brown hair questioned as she pointed upstairs. Willa tightened her jaw and pushed her hair back and off of her shoulders, smiling; "Of course".
Karma hummed and raised her brows before she returned to her book, Fanged. Willa sighed and slowly made her way to and up the stairs, thinking of what to say to Rio. She had no time for this, honestly. It was time consuming to get back in River's good graces for something so petty as this. She wanted to be nowhere close to River at the moment.
Not because of this, but because of the fact that she smells.
River smelled like her—that blue braided, body touching, know it all space freak who was all over River before they left school. The scent was strong. It was sweet but sharp. Like something electric or rubbery and candied, meshed in one impossible bottle. It was an unfamiliar scent, one that been lingering for too long, clinging onto her most precious thing alive and forcing her to smell it again and again.
It was definitely an alien scent—one that didn't belong on Earth or on her, but there it was...
It made Willa's stomach turn and her skin crawl.
It was practically haunting her, like it had a purpose.
A mission.
But Willa was the one who haunted. She led the missions. She finished them. That reek of a scent was gonna be enough for Willa to wolf out. It was thick in the air—suffocating and challenging. Willa had the feeling as if A-Zara was trying to mark her territory with her scent. At SeaBrook—her home. With her people. The ones she loves.
And, most importantly, her fucking girlfriend!
In some cases, A-Zara had already made a claim had with a scent that strong all over someone she liked. Willa tried to block it out—block everything out with these aliens and A-Zara, but it was impossible. That crash wasn't accidental. They aren't here for Cheer. And if A-Zara tried to make one move on her girl—there would be blood. Or whatever aliens have.
Blue blood?
Goo?
Glitter?
Willa didn't care! She'd spill it. Because those anti-gravity, blueberry space freaks are up to something. This wasn't even jealousy. This was territory. And Willa didn't back down when something threatened to take it—especially not some glossy-skinned, cosmic flirt with boundary issues.
Willa deeply exhaled from her mouth before she knocks on the closed door and twisting the golden knob to walk in. "Hey" Willa said, closing the door again once she was inside the dimly lit room. River rolled her eyes and turned to grab her phone off her dresser. "Dude, all I did was say that it was fine to go see what Mason wanted!".
"Yeah, but I was trying to talk to you and you just told me to go with him!" River scoffed and made her way to her sliding bathroom door.
"And you had a whole attitude!" She added.
Willa threw her head back and smiled in amusement at the nonsense she was being told. "River. I didn't have an attitude" she says. Willa looks down at her girlfriend with a slight head tilt after rolling her head in its rightful place. River squints at Willa and crosses her arms. "I didn't!" Willa smiles and chuckles in amusement. "Whatever." River shrugged as she slid the door open. "You're joking?" Willa questioned in disbelief, her shoulders dropping.
"Riv, seriously? River, I didn't do anything!" Willa huffed as she walked towards the foggy glass door.
She gulped at River as she took off her layer top, leaving her in a dark purple bra. She didn't mean to stare, but how could she not? Willa craned her head outstretched to get a better look on River's surprisingly toned body. Her expressive brows bunched together and her lips parted slightly, her mouth feeling dry.
Her tail would be wagging if she had one.
"Will you go away?" River questioned, annoyed. She walked back to the sliding door and began to pull it close. The only thing that was stopping her was Willa's outstretched arm that had gotten in the way. The wolf's hand touched her by the waist and opened the door more with her free hand.
"Don't you have somewhere to be?" River said as she walked backwards and Willa walked in, sliding the door close. Her chest heaved up and down as she tried to keep her composure. "No" Willa answered, leaning in slowly. "And if I did, nothings more important than you" the taller girl lowered her head and softly placed kisses against the right side of River's cheek. "You made it sound so important earlier though" River's breath caught in her throat, her body becoming tense before relaxing.
"So important that you practically ran from me" Willa's left hand reached up, finding the back of her neck. "I didn't run, Ri." Willa huffed, lifting and placing Rio on the bathroom counter. River's heartbeat quickened as Willa's thumb traced her other cheek, gently grazing her ear before repeating the movement. River tried to remember why she was upset in the first place. But the way Willa was speaking, kissing, and feeling on her made it nearly impossible to focus.
River tried to pull away from her girlfriend's kisses but the wolf took the opportunity to kiss her neck, dipping her head lower and kissing intently.
"I can't tell. I almost thought you were Sonic" River said with heavy breathing.
Willa's clawed grip on her waist tightened slightly, her body pressing just a little closer to settle in between her legs, her breath warm against River's neck as she paused her kisses. She looked up at River through her lashes. "I had my reasons" she murmured, her voice softer as she spoke. She placed a soft kiss on Rio's neck, in the crook that made Rio melt. River scoffed, but it came out weaker than she intended.
"And... and now, suddenly, I'm more important than all of them?".
"You've always been. Don't do that" Willa stated, pulling River in closer with both hands on her hips. River gasped and added her grip onto Willa's shirt. "Willa..." She placed her hands on Willa's chest, trying to push just enough to create some space between them. Willa, sensing River's unease, pulled her lips away from River's neck completely and focused on the clearly still aggravated girl.
"What's wrong now?" Willa asked. "This— everything! Just get out." River states as she jumps down from the counter with little space that she had and walks to open the slide door. Willa pulls her brows together and tilts her head, her reflection doing the same in the mirror. "Did I push—?" Willa turns, trying to make sense of the situation, worried that she went too far. River pointed out to her bedroom and tapped her foot on the wooden floor. "Honey..." Willa says, somewhat pleading.
