(MADHULIKA' POV)
Recently, my friends and I hardly hang out any more. Anushka has her problems. I talk to her often. Things aren't too bright for her, but she's still being optimistic. She still believes Nicolas is capable of harboring feelings. I agree. Sneha might scoff and laugh at us for thinking like that, but I feel it too. The unmoving wall, that Nicolas is putting up, hides something. But I haven't had many time to ponder what it is. I'm having troubles of my own.
After the attack, Sebastian and I haven't said a word to each other. He still follows me like a shadow but refuses to interact. I can't get a read on him either. It makes me nervous. I feel like I might have done something bad. But I can't figure out what.
Sneha heard Anannya and Seb talking the other day ( two days ago to be precise), she says he's hiding something important. Apparently it's regarding me. I have an ominous feeling about this. The last time he hid things from me, it didn't end well. I tied approaching him but he straight out ignored me.
I'd like say I could care less, but that would be a lie. To be honest, Sebastian's behaviour is making me restless. Wether it's because my life is on the line or I'm losing a good friend, I don't know.
I'm starting to feel a little lonely here. Lord, I need to preoccuy myself! It's time I check out what my friends are doing.
I found my friends in the game room in the Boys' Dormatory.
"Chug! chug! Chug!" They were yelling. Everyone's eyes were gulped on Nate and Jeremy, who were trying to chug milk.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"Nate and Jeremy are having a competetion." Anannya answered.
"A milk drinking competition?" I asked.
"Yup, and the loser has to do the winner's homework for a week." Sneha giggled. Yup, they were weird as well usual.
"Where are Nicolas and Anushka? Practice?" I inquired.
"Yeah recently, they can't get enough of each other it seems." Blake smirked and the rest burst out laughing. And I'm pretty sure someone squirted milk.
"Both of you are disqualified!" Chelsea announced.
"Darn." They cussed.
"Where is Seb?" Nate asked.
"How should I know? He took off after class." I answered. Anannya looked at me, agony and regret in her eyes. I'm pretty sure I looked miserable too.
"Ah." Nate said. He seemed to understand the situation. He definitely knew something he wasn't telling.
"New challenge!" He diverted the conversation. But before Nate could continue we were greeted by a new guest.
"Hey." Greg greeted.
"Um hey." Anannya answered.
"Did you figure out how trees fall by themselves? " smirked. "But leave that, I need to speak with Madhulika Bhansali."
"Me?" He nodded.
"In private." He added.
"What is it?" I asked as we exited the game room.
"Do you know anything about the Laxens?" He asked.
"Laxens? Never heard of them."
"Damnmit!"
"What why are you asking? "
"You haven't heard a thing? Hasn't Mr. Cold Glare told you anything?"
