(ANUSHKA'S POV)
That was it? That was the ceremony? I mean with all the commotion going on about "the ceremony", this wasn't what I expected. I remember discussing with my friends what it would be like. According to Anannya we would battle in an arena as part of the ritual. Typical of her. Madhulika thought it would be some elaborate ritual with spells and chants. She wan't far off. Sneha imagined something different entirely, she said something about a weird tribal dance. I thought it would be some kind of celebration. Yeah it was far from it.
"It's done?" Sneha asked.
"Why do you look so dissapointed? Did you expect something different?" Anannya, Madhulika, Sneha and I cracked up. Yeah we imagined something different. A lot different.
"Your weird inside joke aside, we'll start practicing with magic tomorrow." With that everyone began to leave.
"Wait Anannya!" Chelsea called. "Come here for a sec." We followed Anannya. And apperently everyone else did the same.
"What is it?" She asked.
"Your hair." Anannya looked up at her as if she thought it had caught fire. "I've found a spell that can reverse minor damage." We all gave her a perplexed look." It means I can fix your hair for you." Anannya's eyes lit up like christmas lights, I haven't seen her this happy, not since we came here. Actually, I was pretty happy myself. I mean, the Pixie cut represented Anannya well. But she looked somewhat like a guy. I liked her with long hair, they were the only proof she was a girl.
Chelsea directed Anannya to sit down. All of us looked in awe. Chelsea placed both her hand on Anannya's head and a faint emerald light surrounded them. Chelsea mummered softly. For a minute nothing happened. Then suddenly yet slowly Anannya's hair began to grow. Inch by inch, until they were as long as they were before her hair got chopped off.
"All done." Chelsea announced when she finished. The spell had worn her out a bit. She looked a little tired. Or maybe she didn't let on. Either way, whatever this spell was, it wasn't easy.
Anannya stood up and veered around to hug Chelsea, something I didn't expect Anannya to do.
She kept muttering 'thanks yous'.
The rest of us were spellbound. The whole process was just so cool!
Everyone fistbumped Chelsea on their way out.
I watched everyone leave. But there was someone in particular I couldn't tear my gaze away from. He walked with the grace of a panther, his eyes like a hawk, his presence was Godlike. Nicolas, was older and unattainable. But there was something so powerful and aluring about him. Something so strong, I couldn't resist. Around him, I couldn't breathe, couldn't look away. He was just so, so painfully beautiful.
"Anushka, lets go." Anannya tapped on my shouler.
"Looks like someone's got a crush." Nate wistled as we got closer to our doorm.
"What? Who?" I asked.
"You've got a crush on Nicolas. And everyone else has one on me. Oh and Madhulika and Sebastian already have something going on."
"No I don't" I exclaimed. What made him think that. Oh right, the constant staring. But its not like I've got a crush on him! I don't, do I?
"Shut up you narcissist." Anannya rolled her eyes.
"Yeah me and Sebastain have nothing going on." Madhulika joined in.
"Narcissist? Well then why do you have a crush on me, Anannya? And Madhulika, it so plainly obvious." Nate smirked. Anannya punched it right off his face. Well figuratively. She actually, punched him in the arm. This made him grinned bigger.
