"You do know that he won't love you like how you wish he could love you right?" said Masesi in a tone of worry.

"I just don't understand why he always hurts me this much and still doesn't want to let me go. I'm sick of the back and forth. I hate how this is toxic but yet it feels like an addiction. An addiction that I feel like I cannot fight against it alone."
I sighed from exhausted as I approached the sofa to have a seat with a bottle of wine in my hand.

Masesi is my childhood friend . A sister from another mother, who I adore so much and value her wisdom. (She's the one person who can tolerate my nonsense from time to time.)

She focuses eye-contact to where I am seated thereafter comes along with her glass of wine to sit next to me.

"Larona, now this is the time you have to break up with this man. I cannot stand seeing another violent episode of you two. First of all, this guy is narcissistic. Secondly, you need a new dick to get over him. Thirdly, you need to stop being gullible over this idea of hoping for the best. Lastly.. He is a black man with issues OKAY?! Don't give excuses for him. " she firmly stated. I looked back at my bestie with the realization of knowing what I must do even though, deep down, I am scared to break up with a crazy boyfriend.

"You're right sister. All this nonsense and the drama between Dean and I needs to end for good. Do you think now it's the time to call it quits?" I asked nervously. Masesi unapologetically nods her head in agreement which led to reaching my phone over the table near us, and I scrolled to his contact. We give each other one more look before I make the call.

"You've got this. I believe you can handle the announcement well" said Masesi reassuring me. I smiled at her and I pressed on my phone to give Dean a call. "It's ringing for some time now I don't think he's in the mood to talk" I whispered to Masesi while waiting for my call to be answered.
"I'm pretty sure he'll answer." she replied. I genuinely thought of dropping the call until I heard a sound.

"Hello. Larona." a husky voice echoed.
