"I cannot believe she is pregnant with another man's child. This entire time when I thought Dean and Larona will build their future in the Western Cape, I didn't expect such a turn around like this. This clearly explains why she's back at home. Maybe Dean broke up with her and is left heart broken. That boy was sweet. He doesn't deserve what Larona put him through. I'm quite disappointed in Larona. She chose to devalue her body for another man. She is pregnant and unmarried. " Mrs Kent expressed her judgment on her daughter's situation.

Mr. Kent blatantly ignores her words and lights up a cigarette to remain calm." Ohh my father's children you're even smoking to calm down from this. I'm deeply upset with Larona right now. " Mrs Kent stressfully said.

"My wife, I appreciate the concern but it is not right for you to expose our daughter like that. You must apologize for that kind of behavior." Mr Kent finally spoke. "What do you mean apologize? Haven't you heard what she said about the pregnancy?" Mrs Kent began to sound defensive.

"I've heard and seen enough but my words still apply. I need to speak to Larona about this right now so please call her for me." He instructed his wife firmly which made his wife speechless and went to call Larona.

When Larona appeared to her father, he turned around to face her emotional state." Come here." he said with open arms in request for a hug. Larona hugged her father while crying from feeling ashamed of her situation.
"It's okay my child. I won't lash out over this." the father reassured his daughter.

After a moment of comfort, Larona's father looks at her and asked her to explain herself without shying away from her truth. She told him everything from how Dean had treated her to how She met Zain. She explained about Dean destroying her house together with Zain's workspace.
The father never interrupted her but rather listened to understand all of this. When she had concluded her story to him, he said,

"I'm deeply sorry you had to go through such pain. I will accept your situation with the care that it needs. Larona, as your father it upsets me to realize that Dean didn't take good care of your heart even when he knows that your mother and I trusted him to be a loving man towards you. I'm pleased to be aware that the father of this child had took responsibility in accepting this fate. "

"Thank you for understanding my story Father. I'm even grateful for how you're handling this." Larona showed gratitude to her father. "it's okay my daughter. So, tell me about Zain Radebe. I'd like to know his background and why are you in love with him?" Mr Kent replied.

Larona was in disbelief over the positive behavior her father is showing to her. It was something that was completely unusual because she knew how none indulgent her father is known to be. She nervously smiles and then responded her father by saying,

"He comes from a blended family. He's born Zulu and his mother is remarried an Indian man who is known as Idris Baghat. He has a step brother who is Omer Baghat."

"The old man is famous for his businesses in the manufacturing sector nationwide.." Larona's father commented.  Larona nodded her head in agreement to her father's comment and furthered on to say,

"Zain had always made me feel safe in my femininity. His concerns over my feelings had always made me feel like I'm home. His softness in loving me comes with respect and I honor him for that. I trust his leadership as a man even though there are times where I have doubt. He protects me just as much as you protect Olerato and myself father."

Larona's father was pleased with his daughter's reasons and then asked her,
" Do you ever think Zain will take the initiative to marry you and settle the pregnancy matter? "

"I think one day he'll do so. I guess since Dean's chaos, we've been trying to rebuild our lives hence the thought of marriage didn't come to mind." Larona softly replied to her father.

"That is a fair answer. I understand." The father concludes from asking further questions.

"If I was to name this child if the gender was a boy, I'd certainly name him after you." Larona said while giggling with her dad. "He would be a strong soldier in this country that's one thing for sure." Mr Kent jokes with her.

"If the child's gender was a girl what would you name her?" he asked out of curiosity. "For both genders I'd go with Lehumo." Larona answered.

"That is a beautiful and meaningful name for this human life. I like it." Her father replied.

"I'm glad you love the name father."  Larona smiled to her father.

"Ke Lehumo wa rena." Mr Kent said while smiling back to his daughter. (meaning He/She is marked by great fruitfulness or wealth for us.)
