Chapter THIRTY NINE

(LARONA'S POV )

Just when I was done with working for the day, my best friend called to inform me about Dean. I was genuinely shocked but secretly happy to know that karma finally paid a visit to his life. Even though i was sceptical with Masesi's involvement in helping Dean. I let it slide because my biggest worry was about another thing.

I did not dare to share Masesi about my health situation but I reassured her that I'm safe at home. Right after talking to her over the phone, I got inside my car and drove to a mall for some grocery shopping.

I arrived inside the mall to a supermarket and did my shopping. Right after that I saw a doctor's office just nearby and I decided to go there for consultation.
The thought about Olerato mentioning a pregnancy test, it scared me a little but it was a valid point to get into the bottom of my health situation. I managed to remain at the waiting area until it was my turn to get inside the doctor's office. I explained myself to the doctor about the symptoms and he took a blood test for investigation.

It took some time since waiting for my blood result but when the doctor came back from the small laboratory room, he looks at me for announcing the diagnosis.

"it appears that you are conceived Miss Kent. I need you to come back again next week for our first check up, using an ultrasound machine. I've prescribed some supplements for ensuring the nutritional balance that will help the fetus development remain stable."

I froze from interpreting what the doctor disclosed to me. My feelings couldn't be described of how I felt about the news. I knew that if this pregnancy was announced to my family, it would be another story of following a cultural procedure to involve the family from the father's child. It was something I needed to keep it a secret and hide this for as long as it takes.

"Uhmmm. Gosh! Uhh Doctor, I don't know what to say but either than thanking you for your service.". I nervously told him.
"Remember to come next week so that we can find out how long you are pregnant and please don't pressure yourself in doing heavy physical work that may cause harm to your unborn child." The doctor adviced me.

"I'll do so. Thank you doctor." I concluded the consultation and went straight to my car to drive back home.
From the route I took to go home, I noticed an unfamiliar car driving behind me. It made me wonder who was driving but eventually I stopped thinking about it and arrived at home.

"My beautiful daughter, did you buy all the things I've asked for you to bring from the mall??" my mother asked me when I immediately came inside the house. "Yes, Mom there are still inside my car but I'll bring them just now." I said to her while I excused myself to go to the bedroom.

Luckily, I found Olerato preparing herself for night shift  since well her workplace is a private owned hospital that requires receptionists to work in shifts just like other medical staff.

"isn't it too early for you to go to work?" i asked her. "For your information my lovely sister, my boyfriend will fetch me at a street corner where I can hide from mom and dad so I need to go early so that I can have more time being with my man before I attend work." Olerato tells me while she's giggling.

"You can forget about getting me a pregnancy test." I mentioned it to her. She pauses from dressing up and then looks at me attentively. "Why you say so?" she asked.

I looked at her silently and from that moment she knew my nonverbal answer. She hugs me and I received her warmth hug in acceptance.

"let's not tell mom and dad about this. Please baby." I begged her while we hugging each other. "I promise big sis." she replied. Once our kind hug broke up, my little sister asks me a question that I hoped she wouldn't want to know.

"Is Dean the father of this child?"

"It's complicated Olerato." i immediately tell her. "So, if he's not the father of your unborn child, then who is?" she further asked. I sighed in trying to ignore her and ironically I looked at my remaining diamond anklet that i wore. My mind and heart instantly misses the owner of this anklet.

"Okay, it's fine if you are not ready to tell me sister, but please tell me that this man is treating you better than how Dean treated you." Olerato says so in a concerned manner.  "He is a better man than Dean however, I just don't know if he would accept this pregnancy. My situation is so complicated because we both have feelings for each other but from how we started our thing it was just based on having fun." I disclose it to her and then my little sister smirks at me.

"Bad bitch vibes are fun until he impregnates you. " she joked. I giggled with her and i further said," I actually moaned for him to cum inside me, the first time we did it. I was able to drink the plan B pill afterwards but ever since that day, we continued with our thing and then feelings got in the mix between us that we forgot about the consequence."

"All I can comment from what you just told me, is that one way or another your belly will show and then one day our parents will find out. The family meeting be held. Both of us know very well how strict dad is when it comes to following tradition. " Olerato replied.

"I know little sis. The longer this secret is kept, the better. I will announce it later on in life." I said. "Just know that I still have your back no matter what happens." Olerato reassures me and places a kiss on my cheek and touches my tummy gently .
"I can't wait to become an aunt to my first ever niece or nephew from the family." she said in excitement.

With that said my little sister resumes to her stuff and I eventually go back to collect the groceries from my car to bring them in the kitchen for preparing dinner.
