(LARONA'S POV)

After a long day feeling anxious about my mother's request for a meeting with me soon. It was supper time and my family gathered to eat.

I didn't touch my food for a while and my mother noticed it. "Larona, please eat your food." she politely tells me. By look at her face I knew that I had no other reason to refuse other than following her instruction. Olerato was giving side eyes to me and my mom in trying to understand the ambiance that's happening between us. My father wasn't necessarily paying attention to either of us. He simply continued to eat his big meal peacefully.

After some time of eating quietly as a family, I decided to excuse myself from the table. Just as I was about to leave my family, I hear my mother's voice speak. "I need you to help me clear up this table and assist me in the kitchen alone."

"Why can't Olerato help you?" I asked her. Olerato was stunned in how I dragged her name into this cold discussion. "Olerato has helped me enough and I miss bonding with my daughter. Is that too much to ask Larona?" My mother answered my question while giving me a smirk.

I instantly kept quiet and sat down again. My father finally notices the starring between myself and my mother which made him question us.
" Is everything alright between you two? "

"Yes" I said.
"Actually No Papa. We are not fine." my mother suddenly mentions.
"Mom.. I was thinking about the dress that you saw at the mall and I thought why not we do some shopping tomorrow??" Olerato quickly interjected to ease the tension between myself and my mother.

My father was no longer eating and paid extra attention to his wife's words instead of mine. "Your daughter has been keeping a secret that I believe you should be aware of it too. I had no idea what was happening until I saw her inside the bathroom. To be honest with you Papa Larona, I'm appalled with what Larona will show you right now."
My mother spoke sternly while looking at me to reveal myself.

"Mom please let's talk about this without being sour." Olerato jumped in the conversation to protect me. "yeyyyi wena(you) Olerato!! Don't tell me what to do. Matter of fact I'm shocked that you exactly know what this is about." My mother snapped at my little sister in realizing that she knew about my pregnancy long enough.

"Mom, please don't be like this." I asked her whilst a tear dropped from my eye.

"Everyone be quiet!" My father ordered which resulted us shutting our mouths. "Larona, what is your mother talking about? What does she mean when she said you will show me something? " My father strictly interrogated me.

A few more tears ran down my face and I nervously stood up to disclose what I was hiding. I was wearing PJs underneath the gown I wore therefore, once I took off my gown. My swollen stomach was spotted.

My father was stunned to realize that I'm a few months pregnant and then his hands were placed on his forehead as he faced down. He took his little time to process what was happening with me and once he found the courage to speak again, he asked, "When will Dean formally address this?"

That question made me feel more scared to tell the truth to my parents. Olerato jammed from hearing the question that was directed to me.

"Girl, you won't just stand there and not answer anything to your father." my mother interjected. "He's not the father of my unborn child." I nervously announced to my parents. "WHAT!!" my mother's voice echoed from the shocking news she just heard.

"So not only did you hide this pregnancy from your parents, you are also telling us that the same boyfriend who we thought is still with you is not the father of your child?!? Larona if this is not giving a disgraceful act then I don't know what is." my mother commented while feeling deeply upset.

" Father, please let me explain. " I started to beg for his attention but he had no interest to look at me anymore. He stood up from his seat and walked outside of the house. I wanted to follow him behind but Olerato encouraged me to let him be.

My mother was the one who chose to walk behind his foot steps and there after both of my parents were outside of the house.

From this intense moment I felt uncomfortable and heartbroken. The disappointed look from my parents' eyes piercied my heart and I couldn't bare to stand here anymore. I walked away from Olerato and cried inside the bedroom. Olerato decided to spy on my parents to hear their conversation in the yard over this discovery.
