One month later
Every day it's the same routine. Wake up, eat, lie down, watch TV, think about how Drew hurt me, and sleep all over again. I didn't know how much a breakup could hurt but then again I don't think it was the breakup that hurt but the fact that someone didn't love me enough to cheat on me. That's the real pain. Every dream is about Drew and every day I wake up it's all I think about. So how could I escape?
Right after Drew cheated on me Vic gave me space because I asked but now since a month has gone by she has been texting and calling. I know she's only trying to check on me because she cares but I just don't have it in me to talk to anyone. I haven't left my place once and have been living off of my fridge to eat, pictures I haven't edited for work since I haven't been going to matches, and watching The Fault in Our Stars. I know that at some point I have to get on with my life but I just don't know when or why I even should.
I take a bite out of the leftover pizza I ordered yesterday. This is an unpopular opinion but cold pizza tastes good and might be better than being hot. Then again maybe I feel that way because I haven't tasted good food in a while.
After I took another bite of my pizza I heard someone knocking on my door.
"Taylor, it's me. Victoria!"
I sighed not wanting to get up and not wanting to talk to her right now.
"I know you're in there! You haven't left your apartment in a month!" She said loudly still knocking on the door.
"Ughhhh!" I groaned getting up lazily to open the door.
"Open the door, Taylor!"
I slowly opened the door seeing Vic's face for the first time in a month. I missed her but I couldn't figure out if she was angry or upset with me.
"You look like a mess," she said.
I looked down embarrassed of myself.
"I'm not mad or anything I just missed you and of course, I've been worried. We don't have to talk about what happened but I'm here for you and I wanted to see you," Vic said still standing outside my door.
It took me a few seconds to look back up at her but eventually I did and then said, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have shut you out." Vic then grabbed my hand saying, "You don't have to be sorry. I don't know what happened but I'm sure there was a reason for this."All I could think of doing at that moment was to hug her. I stepped closer to Vic and deepened my body against hers as she wrapped her arms around me.
Vic was helping me clean my place because when I let her come in she insisted on helping me clean up the mess. After about an hour we finished making my apartment look brand new. We both sat down on my couch with Benny lying in between us. Vic looked over at me and then grabbed my hand.
"Are you okay?" She asked knowing something big happened. Ever since Drew cheated on me I haven't told anyone what happened. I just cut everyone out of my life. I took a while to answer thinking about how I truly feel.
"I wasn't," I paused. "But now I am."
"That's good to hear."
"Is it okay if I talk about what happened?"
"Only if you want to," Vic said.
"Okay."I finished telling Vic everything that happened to me and Drew. She looked like she could kill someone knowing Drew cheated on me.
"Why would anyone honestly cheat on you? I mean do they not know how amazing you are?"
I looked down hearing Vic say that because I truly wasn't fully healed yet.
"I'm sorry. I know it takes time to get over this," Vic said putting her arms around me.
"It's weird because I'm not sure what I'm feeling is normal. Since I've never truly been in a relationship with someone I don't know if this is what heartbreak feels like."
Vic continued to hug me saying, "It is... but I'll make sure you never feel this way again."Authors note:
