Dogs & Pictures - Victoria Pelova

Chapter 7

Me and Vic were taking Benny home. Vic said that he reminded her of her dog back home in the Netherlands. Benny sat in the back seat of Vic's car while we drove back north London.

A week later

It's been a few days since I haven't seen Vic because she had two away games this week. One for the wsl and one for the conti cup. This week I took pictures at the Tottenham vs. man united game. That was a fun game to be at and watch. Me and Vic still texted each other and she told me they won both away games. I of course already knew that because I watched them. I congratulated her and then out of nowhere she FaceTimes me. I didn't know if I should answer but maybe it was important. I answered and saw Vic laying down on a bed.

"Are you already back in London?" I asked her as she was smiling through the screen.
"Yeah. I'm pretty tired so ima take a nap soon." She said.
"Oh. So then why did you FaceTime me?" I said laughing.
"Oh yeah. I got a question," Vic said as she was yawning.
"Well say it before you pass out."
"My teammates and I are going to have a movie night later on today. I wanted to know if you want to come if you don't have any plans," she asked with tired eyes. I smiled at her because she always wanted me around even when she was hanging around her friends, but I didn't want to tell her that.
"What? What are you smiling at?" She asked.
"Nothing. But yes, I'll come."
"Yay! I'm going to sleep now," Vic said already closing her eyes.
"Ok. Text me when I need to be ready."
"Yup. Bye!" She said.
"Bye!" I said hanging up the phone.

While I waited before Vic would text me I went on a walk with Benny. He loved going on walks and meeting new dogs/people. I'll admit he's more social than I am. I also brung my camera so I could take some pictures of Benny exploring London. When we were done walking I bought a coffee and sat in the cafe for a bit. As I was drinking my coffee and Benny was sitting down beside me I got a text from Vic

Hey
The address is 326 parkway drive
I'm on my way there

Ok
I'll be there in a few!
Is it okay if I bring Benny?

Yes!
The girls would love to see him!

lol
Ok see you soon👋🏼

Bye!

I was headed to the address with Benny and was excited to meet more of Vic's friends. I'm not sure who was going to be there but atleast I would meet more people. I got there and rang the doorbell. The person who opened the door was smiling big and let me in the house.

"Hi! I'm Beth! You must be Victorias friend?" She asked with so much energy.
"Yeah. I'm Taylor. It's nice to meet you," I said.
"It's nice to meet you too. And who must this little guy be?" She said looking down at Benny and petting him.
"This is Benny. He's my dog. I hope it's okay if I bring him."
"Yeah, no worries! I have a dog too. Her name is Myle. They can hang out together," Beth said excitedly.
"Thanks."
"Well come on. We'll be watching the movie in the backyard."
She showed me to the backyard and it looked really nice. Nicely cut grass with chairs that you could lay down on, a pool, and the tv projector that was behind the pool. I saw Vic talking to other people who all turned their heads to me. I hated being the center of attention.
"Taylor! You're here," Vic said loudly. She came up to me and gave me a hug. She always hugs me when she sees me and I'm not complaining about it.
"Yeah, I just met Beth."
"Good and now I want to introduce you to my other friends," she said pulling me to the people surrounding a small fire pit.
"Everyone this is Taylor. My new American friend."
Did she really have to say I was American?
"And Taylor this is Viv, Katie, Caitlyn, Leah, and Alessia," Vic said happily.
"Hi everyone. It's nice to meet you all," I said as I waved at them. I'm not going to lie, when you see them on the pitch playing, they're intimidating but here, they all seem so nice.
"Hey!"
"Hi!"
"It's nice to meet you!" They all said.
"Is that your dog? He's so cute!" Caitlyn said.
"Oh my gosh! Can we pet him?" Katie said.
"Yeah go ahead. He's super friendly."
As they were all distracted by Benny, Vic pulled me away from them.
"What's up?" I said.
"Are you okay with this?" She asked me.
"What do you mean?"
"Being here. I don't want you to feel like you have to come. I just want you to be able to meet more people," she said.
"No I want to be here. Especially if you're here," I said making her smile.
"I like your friends and I want to get to know them," I said assuring her I was okay being here.
"Okay. I think they're going to start the movie," she said dragging me to sit with her on a chair that could fit both of us.

Everyone was ready with the snacks and started the movie.
"This is a good one," Viv said.
"Shhh. It's starting," Beth said slightly hitting her girlfriend. We all started to laugh.
"Ow! That hurt!"
"I barely touched you," Beth said back to her.
"Okay guys, be quiet," Katie said to them.

Even though this was a movie night, no one really watched the movie the whole time. We were taking to each other and eating while playing around at the same time. Vic was in front of me and her back was facing the movie. We were talking and I just decided to take a picture of her. She smiled for the camera and wanted to see it.
"Let me see!" She said trying to reach for my phone.
"Wait! I want to retake it!" I said loudly spreading my arm out so she wouldn't take my phone.
"Please!" She said still trying to grab it. I was not trying to let her get my phone just to play around with her. I don't know why she wanted to see it so bad but she got on top of me to try to reach for it. I dropped my phone accidentally and she was still on me. She was looking at me and I was looking at her. Our faces were close but not too close.
