Luka and the others try to end the cousins' rein and revenge on Lily
"Marc, it's time." Marinette said. Marc came over and smiled. He and Marinette switched places as Marc dragged Lily up to the front of the stage. She was trying and failing to break Marc's vines with her own. He scowled as he saw her trying to escape.
"You aren't escaping your fate this time, little liar." He growled at her.
Marinette bowed just like her cousin did before her. She rose up and watched as her cousin drag Lily up to the front of the stage. Meanwhile, the friends just got to the stage and knew what Marinette would do.
"We have to stop her from hurting Lily!" Aurore said.
"But how? She's much stronger than when we got here." Nino pointed out. "No one is even noticing what's actually going on!"
"I have an idea." Luka said. The group listened in on his idea and scrambled to find people who could help them.
Marinette brought the attention onto Lily. "Lily here is the reason why we sang that song today! Give her a big round of applause for our inspiration!" The audience cheered as Lily remained trapped.
"Do you all want to know a secret?" Marinette asked a hushed voice. The environment quieted. "I became this way because of Lily. Because of what she did to me." Marinette turned to the girl. "You created the monster in front of you. If I was one before, then what am I now?"
"Marinette, I'm sorry-"
"No you're not. You're only sorry because I'm exposing you to the entire school! Everyone thinks this green and pink uniform you wear represents your goodness and how angelic you are, when it really represents your envy. You are nothing to me, you mean nothing to me, and I will make you pay for everything you have done!" The red aura returned around Marinette, making her stronger. Her eyes turned black, as well as Marc's. His dark green aura started to appear as well as the cousins became hand in hand. Together, they were about to strike when a voice sang out.
"It's some kinda love, it's some kind of fire," Luka sang, bringing the attention onto him. He was nervous, to say the least. Sure, he was a musician himself, but he doesn't usually sing. On top of that, he has to stop his girlfriend from making a mistake she will regret.
Alternative reality or not, Marinette was still the same person as she was before. And she would have her regrets follow her, no matter what the outcome is. And the only way to stop this was to sing.
Why? Because only light can battle the dark.
And luckily for him, there were a few people in the crowd who sang along.
"I'm already up, but you lift me higher. You know I'm not wrong, you know I'm not lyin'. We do it better, we do it better, yeah." Marinette raised her eyebrow, curious as to what her boyfriend was doing. He stepped closer anyways, unafraid.
"And I don't mind if the world spins faster. The music's louder, the waves get stronger. I don't mind if the world spins faster, faster, faster." Luka took Marinette's hands. The moment physical contact hit, her eyes changed from black to bluebell. Luka felt a sense of comfort that this was working.
He also felt accomplished that he convinced Nathaniel to sing and bring his future boyfriend back too. Nathaniel did the same thing he did and brought Marc back a little bit.
"Just let me take you to a better place!" They sang as the background voices got louder. The girls were able to get some acapella voices, and boy was he glad. He didn't want to serenade his girlfriend with terrible backup voices, that would be embarrassing.
