A Pride Month Special! Featuring one of my favorite people in the series

MARCCCC

This is basically him coming out and fearing the worst, but his cousin luckily shows how everything will be fine

I personally am not gay (I don't think, but all my friends think I'm bi and I just feed them into it so it is what it is) but this is somewhat what I imagine some of my ACTUAL gay friends go through. If you feel up to it, drop some experiences for authenticity, I wanna understand more. I feel bad sometimes about writing things and not understanding the full concept (that's also why I haven't done collabs with other fandoms yet, I gotta get the mindset to fully picture things before I write them, but this idea popped into my head and I rushed to write it down)

To me, it seems like you would feel the same, but then you would feel like your feelings are wrong if you are grown into learning that you have to marry the opposite sex, which I don't think should be to up for anyone else to choose who you should be with besides yourself.

BE PROUD OF WHO YOU AREEEEEEE

The gay ones are the fun ones fr, everything feels so LIVELY

Marc always knew he was gay, ever since he was a kid. The boys would always do these things to impress girls or get them to notice them, but Marc would never feel up to it. He thought nothing of it, he just thought that he would see what they saw later.

But as he grew older he noticed that he would feel a certain type of way around boys, never around girls. It wasn't until a specific class that helped him understand.

He wasn't into girls. He was into men.

It's not like Marc's mom would disagree, she was a very open-minded woman who wouldn't mind who he loved. But what if the other people around him aren't as accepting? What if they have just been playing the part the whole time, but will leave the moment he starts to show his true interests?

All these feelings and emotions would come and go as time flew by, most of Marc's crushes ended up being straight anyways. The ones who turned out not to be ended up finding their person or moved away, making Marc feel abandoned again.

Then lycée hit. Marc was minding his business hanging out with Aurore and Mirelle, then he met Nathaniel one day because of his cousin Marinette. It was a very chaotic day, one that ended with Marc getting akumatized but also getting to know Nathaniel better. Soon they started working on comics together and just chilling out.

But Marc started to notice a shift in him. He felt happier when Nath was around, his stomach felt jittery, and he started being nervous and self conscious about what he says. He also started noticing little things, like how Nath would slightly smile when he thought of something funny, or how he always had a focused look when trying to perfect a drawing. Marc knew this feeling well, and he didn't like it.

It was a crush.

The idea of a crush sickened him to his stomach. It wasn't like Nathaniel was a horrible person, he was great! But having a crush on a potentially straight guy? That leads to embarrassment and ruining the friendship because it gets awkward. Marc doesn't want to ruin a good thing that they have going just because some feelings decided to move into his body rent free.

He must've been panicking over this alot, because a few days later he found himself dragged to Marinette's room with snacks and tea. "Spill everything. You've been acting weirder than normal, especially around Nath."

Marc's eyes widened. "Do you think he noticed?"

"Not really, he probably believes you are stressing over assignments or writing the script for the next comic. He also may have also asked if anything was up with you and we said that..."

Marc sighed as he leaned back into the chair. "Thank you for covering me."

Marinette held up a hand. "No problem, but you can make it up to me by telling me what's going on. You seem fine when you are with us or your other friends, but when Nath is around you start to get nervous. Did something happen? Is everything okay?" Marinette's face darkened a little. "Did he hurt you?"

"No no! None of that! It's just..." Marc hesitated, then told her everything. From the moment he started noticing the signs that he might have a potential crush to the comparisons of these feelings in his childhood.

"I think...no I don't think." He took a breath. "I am gay, and I hope you come to accept me for who I am." Marc shrunk back a little into the seat. "B-but please don't hate me..." He whispered.

Marinette was quiet for a moment, then got up. "Come here." She said. Marc did as he was told, confused as to where she was going with this. Marinette moved her full length mirror and put it in front of Marc. "Say it again."

"Say what again?"

"You know what." Still confused but scared his cousin would jump him, he did as he was told. "I am gay." He told himself in the reflection of his mirror.

"And?"

"What do you mean and?!"

"Are you proud of it?" Marc hesitated. Was he proud of it? It's not like he was the only gay guy in existence, but sometimes it sure felt like it.

"Well if you aren't proud of it, I am." Marc looked at his cousin, her face full of love, appreciation, and acceptance. "Say it til you believe it. Look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself you are proud." Marc looked at himself in the mirror. A writer, a nerd, a goofball, but still Marc.

"I am proud."

"Again."

"I am proud."

"Again."

"I am proud!"

"And why are you proud?"

"Because it's who I am and who I always will be." Marinette smiled warmly at her cousin.

"Look at yourself in the mirror again." Marc did just that. "Do you look any different?"

"No."

"Did you grow horns, wings, change colors anything?"

"No."

"Exactly. You look the same as you always have been, and always will be. Gay or straight, you are still Marc, my cousin, family, and close friend. I love you and I am proud of you and appreciate that you trust me enough to come out to me." Marc couldn't hold back the tears anymore and ran at his cousin, tackling her into a hug.

"Thank you." He kept repeating as she held him tight.

"Anytime." She rubbed his back as the tears kept coming. "Do you plan to tell your mom about this?"

"At some point, but let's just enjoy the moment right now."

"Alright."

This was just a little snippet I wanted to do

Kinda open ending but most of my Marc and Nathaniel stuff ends the same so leave that up to your chaotic minds to figure out what happens next

I also wanted to dedicate a chapter that spreads the love and appreciation to the LGBTQIA+ community
