Today's the day, the day I've been dreading, and doing my best to prepare for.

The day the Not Mayor shows up.

I quietly glare from a table as the Not Mayor gives a speech from a small podium.

"Thank you for this amazing turnout." The Not Mayor says.

"Woo-hoo! Let's hear it for Monkie Kid! Hero of the city!" Mei cheers and claps.

"Whoo." I say enthusiastically, clapping slowly.

For a second, the Not Mayor turned to me, but only a second, and flashed me a cold and creepy smile before turning back to MK.

"As Mayor, I hereby give Monkie Kid the key to our fair city." Not Mayor gives MK the skeleton key.

Whatever happens today, I have to do what I can to keep that key out of the Demon Bull Family's hands, or you know who will show up.

MK held the key. "Um, uh, what does this key do, exactly?"

"Oh, you'll love this. It has the power to open anything!" Not Mayor said.

"Ooh, anything? Like a pet shop full of puppies?" Mei says excitedly.

"Yes. Or the door to a lion's cage, or an orphan's piggy bank, an imprisoned mystic power source. Whatever you like! Today, you can do no wrong. You've got my permission. 'Cause I'm the mayor!" The Not Mayor laughed before disappearing.

"Yeah, I wouldn't trust him." I stood beside MK and Mei. "This city definitely does not have a mayor as far as I know."

"Wow. A key that can open anything." MK gasps.

And so the shenanigans begin.

Our first stop was the Anti-Gravity arcade, where we started playing video games.

The moment we lost, we used the key to keep going, then we won a bunch of tickets.

What was surprising to me that hadn't happened in the episode was that we went over to the prize counter.

Mei got her a toy blaster, which was very concerning for a prize, and MK was still looking.

"Hey, Y/n?" MK says.

"Yes?" I turned to him, seeing MK holding a fuzzy bag that looked like my favorite animal.

My favorite animal is a f/a by the way.

"I got this for you." MK hides his red face behind the f/a bag, handing it to me.

My heart thumped lightly in my chest, my face heating up. "T-T-Thanks."

"You're welcome." He rubs his head.

"Come on, you two, we got more stuff to open." Mei grabs both of our arms, dragging us to the next thing we would be doing.

After the Anti-Gravity arcade, we opened a truck full of puppies, there was a car as well, along with a bird, and a tiger too.

Unfortunately, I had to heal the scratches MK got on his arm, but he was fine though, that tiger was taken care of.

After the puppy truck, we got some new shoes.

All I'll say is, that these shoes have never felt more comfortable.

Who knew that a world that was supposed to be fake would have such good shoes?

After the shoes, we went partying, me and Mei dancing while MK was the DJ.
