Y/n's P.O.V
"I don't want to be here." I crossed my arms.

"Come on, Y/n, it'll be fine. " MK said. "I'm so excited! I haven't been to the movies in ages!"

"Uh, kid. This ain't a cinema." Pigsy told him.

"It's a shadow play, with puppets." Mr. Tang told MK.

If you wanted to know why I didn't want to be here, well there's your answer.

I am not in the mood to deal with Macaque's bull crap today, especially when the Lady Bone Demon makes her next move is right around the corner.

"Wha? Puppets? No!" MK pulled out a movie poster. "I thought we were seeing Kung Fu Monkey Cop: The Movie!"

"Eh, check the back." Mei told him.

MK looked at the back of the poster, then noticed the Not Mayor. "Oh, Y/n, Mei. Isn't that the guy who gave us that weird key?"

"You mean the magic key that can unlock anything?" Mei said.

I glared at the Not Mayor. "Yeah, he is most definitely not the mayor, I don't even think this city even had a mayor to begin with."

"Hello!" The Not Mayor waves at us.

"Eurgh. Well, that's not creepy at all." Tang says.

"Point is, whatever we're watching, you've earned a break, kid." Pigsy said to him.

"You have been training super hard. I can't even remember the last time we all just hung out together!" Mei sighs. "I missed this."

"So, was Sandy just busy or..." Tang drags out.

"What are you talking about? We hang out all the time!" MK told us.

"Nuh-uh, girlfriend! It's always Monkey King this or some scary skeleton thing that with you lately!" Mei said to him.

"Guys, MK's had it hard lately, he needs some time off from all the stress." I spoke up, making MK smile at me.

"Just yesterday he blew off checkers night cause' you had to study. Study what, I might ask?!" Tang throws a checker piece at MK.

"Alright, alright! I get it! It's just, Monkey King said..." MK gets lost in thought. "I just-- I need to be ready."

"Ready for what?" Pigsy asked him.

The lights started to dim, signaling the start of the play.

"Shh! Ita starting!" Tang shushes.

"Tang, would you--." Pigsy tried to speak, but Tang aggressively shushed him.

A shadow zips past us, making Pigsy and Tang shake in fear.

"Tang, what kind of play did you say this was?!" Pigsy asked, holding onto Tang.

The curtains opened, revealing the puppeteer, who was actually just Macaque in a cloak.

Of course, I was the only one that knew.

"Welcome viewers to a shadow play the likes of which have never been seen! It follows the tragic tale of a legendary warrior, and how those who bring light into this world inevitability bring darkness to those they hold dear." Macauqe said as the shadows shifted on the wall.

"Y/n, I just realized something." MK turned to me.

"What?" I asked him.

"I, I don't have snacks!" MK says.

"Kid, relax, you literally just ate!" Pigsy told him.

"Must get snacks!" MK says desperately.

"Ugh, fine. Go grab some snacks." Pigsy gave him some money.
