CLARA'S POV
The house was massive and stunning; I almost got lost, but thank God a maid came to get me.
Finally, I stepped into a room that resembled an office, and there sat Daniella. I must admit, Daniella is a very beautiful girl. If only her heart weren't as hard as her mother's.
I bowed respectfully.
"You must be Clara David," she said.
I nodded. She stood up and touched my hair with a faint smile.
"Exactly what I wanted," she murmured to herself.
"Huh?" I replied, confused.
She smiled again."What do you think of my Ryan, Clara? Do you think he's hot, sexy, handsome?" she asked.
"I have never seen Ryan before, ma'am, so I can't say," I replied.
She smiled and continued, "Are you dating?"
I glanced at her, startled by the question.
"Never mind. I don't think so," she said casually, dismissing my silence. I chose to ignore her."You realize you'll be living with Ryan, right?" she asked.
I nodded."Good. Here's your interview question."
I stood still, waiting.
"If your boss asks you to keep him warm at night, on a long, cold night, would you agree?" she asked.
I blinked. "Am I a heater? Why would he ask me to keep him warm?"
She laughed softly.
"What I mean is, if Ryan asks you for sex—though, judging by your looks, it's unlikely—but if it happens, say he's drunk or something, what would your response be, Clara?"
"I wouldn't agree. I'm not stupid," I said firmly, almost to myself.
She smiled again.
"Congratulations, Clara. You've passed your interview. You can leave now and start preparing for your trip," she said.
I smiled in disbelief and bowed before leaving the room.
As I walked downstairs, I spotted Mr. Grande sitting in the living room, sipping green tea. My eyes caught the brand on the tea pack. G.H.'s Green Tea.
Wait. Isn't that tea unsuitable for people on medication? I thought he was under treatment. This tea could worsen his condition and even make his medication harmful.
If he keeps drinking it, it could kill him.
What should I do? Should I tell him?
I hesitated, glancing at him. His wife's glare warned me to mind my business, but my conscience wouldn't let me walk away.
I stopped and turned. "But, sir—"
"Yes, my child?" he replied kindly.
"That tea is not good for you. If you keep drinking it, your condition will never improve, no matter what medications you take," I said.
"What is this dirty girl saying? Get out!" Mrs. Tonia snapped, her voice sharp.
"Mum, let her speak," Daniella called out from upstairs.
"What's your name?" he asked, ignoring his wife.
"Clara David," I replied.
"How sure are you about this, Clara?" he asked, his tone curious.
"My dad was also a victim of that tea. I don't know where you bought yours, but the company recently stopped producing that particular blend. Don't you have a TV to watch the news?" I said.
He chuckled, surprised by my boldness.
"What?" he asked again, smiling faintly. The guards stifled their amusement, while Mrs. Tonia looked furious.
"Since you don't believe me, I'll tell you the symptoms: excessive bowel movements, indigestion, coughing, headaches—"
"That's right," he interrupted, his expression serious now.
"Your medications don't work, not even simple ones for a headache, and you always feel tired," I added.
"Yes, dear. You're absolutely correct," he admitted.
"Then you'd better stop drinking this tea, sir. Have a nice day," I said with a bow.
Before anyone could react, I dashed out of the house and In no time, I was already on my way back to the hospital.
