CLARA'S POV

He checked his time.
"Do dinner with me," he said.
"Huh—?"
"Get her ready," he added, turning to a stunning woman who had just walked in.

I followed her. She was gorgeous—but looked sad. I had a strange feeling she had a sexual relationship with Liam. And maybe... she had feelings for him. The way she looked at him reminded me of how I used to look at Sir Ryan.

She helped me shower, then handed me a red robe in the bathroom.

When I walked out, she used her black towel to cover a bulb in the corner—odd, since the bulb wasn't even on. I figured it might be a hidden camera.

God, Liam is so bad.

She dressed me in a simple black dress after moisturizing my skin. She oiled me up, stretched my hair into soft waves—it looked longer and more elegant. Then she did my makeup.

"Where did you meet Liam?" she asked.
"Oh... well, it's an arranged union," I said.
She chuckled.

The makeup was soft and natural. I wore the heels, picked up my purse, and looked at myself in the mirror. I almost didn't recognize the girl staring back.

Liam stood when he saw me, a genuine smile spreading across his face.
"You look beautiful," he said.

He kissed my cheek gently. I lowered my gaze, memories of Sir Ryan flooding back.

He lifted my chin. "Pretty girls don't look down, Clara."

I smiled.
"Let's go," he said.

I followed him out. Maybe Liam wasn't as bad as I thought.

In the car, I adjusted the expensive hair clip again—it kept poking my scalp.

"Don't you like it?" he asked.
"It's not that... it's just wounding me."

Without warning, he pulled it off and threw it out the window.

My eyes widened. "Stop!!"

The car screeched to a halt. I rushed out. He followed with his guards.

I searched frantically and smiled when I found the clip.

"You stopped my car... for this nonsense hair clip?" he snapped.

"It may be nonsense to you, but it's gold to us," I said.

"Sir, it's okay to throw things away... just throw them in the right direction."

I took his hand and walked toward the people begging by the roadside. I tossed the clip gently.

They scrambled for it.

"No need to fight," I said. "The older person should keep it. When you sell it, share the money."

"Thank you so much, ma. Thank you, sir! Let's go sell it now! Come, come!" one man shouted.

They all rushed away, some even leaving their shops open.

I turned to Liam. "There," I said.

"Givers are better than wasters," I added, gently poking his chest.

He smiled. I smiled back.

Of all the women I've met, none are like her.
She's beautiful. She's kind. She's everything👱‍♂️.

"Thank you... you taught me something today, Clara," he said.
I smiled. "Let's go."

Dinner was quiet. He seemed deep in thought—still in awe, maybe. The way I gave away the clip instead of keeping it stunned him.
