RYAN'S POV
From the other chair, I watched Clara quietly. This crazy girl was drifting off to sleep right in the middle of the movie. I shook my head with a small smile and looked away.
How can one person be this ridiculous?
One moment, she was laughing, and the next, she had dozed off completely.
I chuckled softly, covering my lips with my fingers.
She didn't stir. I could tell the sleep was getting serious.
Suddenly, she tilted forward, about to fall. Instinctively, I moved closer, and she landed against my shoulder, leaning into me as she slept.
The oversized bucket of popcorn she had insisted on buying tipped over, spilling all over me.
I sighed. Perfect.
Of course, she had to choose the biggest bucket.
I glanced at her peaceful face, completely unaware of the mess she had created.
Carefully, I brushed the popcorn off, gathered the bucket, and set it aside.
"Clara," I whispered.
"No," she mumbled in her sleep, then let out a soft snore.
I stifled my laughter. God, what is this?
She remained deep in sleep, and I turned back to the movie.
Weirdly enough, I was enjoying this date more than I had expected.
CLARA'S POV
Was I sleeping?
I blinked awake, realizing the movie was almost over. Oh my God. That's embarrassing.
Straightening hastily, I dusted off my clothes. Thank God Sir Ryan isn't here to see this.
I pulled out my phone, checking my reflection in the screen. Satisfied, I looked around—and froze.
There he was.
Sitting a few steps behind me, engrossed in his phone.
I smiled in relief. No way he saw me sleeping, right?
Turning quickly, I waved at him.
"Sir Ryan," I whispered with a smile before rushing over.
"Are you done?" he asked.
I nodded eagerly. "It was such an interesting movie! I literally watched it to the end."
He arched a brow, clearly amused.
I grinned sheepishly and followed him out of the theater.
The streets were alive with activity—laughter, music, and flashing lights. The energy was infectious.
"Sir, look over there!" I exclaimed, grabbing Ryan's hand before he could protest.
He let me pull him along, and soon, we found ourselves in a crowd cheering for a street performer walking on a tightrope.
I clapped excitedly, my eyes fixed on the performance. "Sir, I think today is their carnival day!" I shouted over the noise.
Ryan didn't seem to hear me, so I leaned closer, raising my voice. "I said, I think it's—"
He suddenly bent to my height, and my breath hitched.
Blushing, I swallowed and whispered, "I think it's their carnival today, Sir."
